I saved my customer like a trillion dollars 💰 Ok...a trillion might be a stretch, but it was multiple millions of dollars. Here's the story: A whole TEAM of folks were tasked to support the government customer. They needed to take a suite of apps that were built in SharePoint and move them to a new platform. The new platform is VERY popular, but I won't name any names. The specific task was "Look at this suite of apps and processes, built in SharePoint. We would like you to rebuild them in the new platform". They would need to have multiple meetings with the customer, the developer (me 🙂) and other important stakeholders. I'm not even going to sugarcoat it...that team failed. They failed to duplicate just ONE of the apps in the suite. This was AFTER the government had paid them millions to make this happen. Meanwhile, I was able to develop this suite for the customer for much less than multiple millions of dollars. BY MYSELF. #hornTootage I developed it, while the business analyst captured and translated the requirements from the customer. So really, it was two-man effort. We knocked this thing outta the park and this super expensive team couldn't even DUPLICATE what we built. I didn't have a blueprint to build from. I built it from the ground up. In the customer's vision. Also, as I mentioned, I didn't cost as much as a team of developers. Also also...I attended the "progress" meetings and advocated for the customer. I asked questions they didn't think to ask and I provided a perspective they'd otherwise not have because they're not the technical subject matter experts. I've had a few of these moments throughout my career that I'm especially proud of (wish I could remember them all). I go hard for my customer! And I make my prime contractor look GOOD too! If you're looking for SharePoint support, I'm your guy. If you're looking for someone that will support the customer, communicate with them and clearly understand what ELSE they need help with...I'm your guy. I've been developing, consulting and training for 15 years now. In general, I've been supporting the government since 2004. And I've been enjoying every moment!
