Dr. Phil Roe for Congress

Phil Roe's upset victory over Rep. David Davis in the August 2008 Republican primary marked the first time in 58 years that an incumbent congressman had been unseated in a Tennessee primary. Outspent by 59%, $318,000, or $12 per vote, while refusing all contributions from Political Action Committees, Dr. Phil Roe overcame a 43 point deficit in the polls in the final 5 weeks of the
campaign to become the 1st District’s sole successful primary challenger since 1930 who had not previously held the seat. 

● Worked with OSM Advertising to write and produce all of the campaign’s radio, television, direct mail, and print media. 
● Prepared issue briefs and coached candidate for media interviews and speeches.
● Wrote press releases, survey responses, and other correspondence.
● Developed concept and rollout plan for ​Healthcare Freedom Fund (Leadership PAC) in 2012

Conservative Students for a Better Tomorrow (CSBT) was named the “#1 Conservative Student Group in America” by The Leadership Institute for its dynamic speaker program and large active membership (200+).
● Managed all publications, newsletters, public relations, correspondence, and advertising.
● Personally organized or supervised the planning of more than forty academic credit-bearing guest speaker programs including events with John Allison, Stephen Moore, Peter Schiff, David Horowitz, David Keene, Tom Tancredo, Herman Cain, John Bolton, Phyllis Schlafly, Michael Steele, Mark Sanford, and Ann Coulter ​inter alios,and conferences with the Mises Institute.
● Negotiated honoraria and arrangements with speakers and outside groups such as YAL, SFL, FEE, and YAF.
● Administered $40,000 annual budget and raised an additional ~$50,000/year in outside donations, grants, and co-sponsorships.
● Arranged club's trips for the Conservative Political Action Conference for several dozen students.
