Some common questions Q: Thomas, why do you talk, and care about burnout so much? A: I’ve burnt out twice! I was on the edge a third time until I finally took back control and reversed it. I was told that if I wanted to have children, I would need IVF – my entire system was fried. That was like a lightning rod to me “no way!” I said. I went on a journey to regain my resilience, rebalance my mind and body, and then finally, come out the other side and thrive! We now have a little girl, who just turned 1 year old, and no IVF was needed! Q: How? A: Lots of work on energy management, emotional mastery, healthy boundaries & limits, optimised sleep & Nutrition, and smart exercise. I have a lot to teach and share. Q: Why breathwork and the Wim Hof Method? A: I found the breathwork at a new masculinity retreat in 2018 and it transformed my life! I realised that this was the missing piece for me in terms of managing my energy, emotions, focus, sleep, and productivity. In 20 minutes, you can literally feel transformed, for the better, after your very first experience of a breathwork session. You realise that you have more control than you thought. Q: You’ve left a good corporate career behind for this new venture of yours? A: Yes. Truth be told, my hand was forced. I was originally going to make this my weekend passion project. Whilst on unpaid leave here in Australia to raise our new daughter, my then employer made my position redundant (I know, don’t get me started on that one!) Turning a negative into a positive, with the encouragement of my wife, I‘ve made it my mission to help people in the workplace. I’ve been where they are, dealing with the ever-expanding task lists, tighter deadlines, more work, less capacity, under-resourced, weak leadership that lacks empathy and trust, as they’re not being supported to learn the very skills they need to be an effective leader, and the thing that breaks is your mental health, physical wellbeing, and your relationships – with yourself and others! People are exhausted, mentally, emotionally, and physically. Working from home has made it worse, not better! We call it stress, burnout, exhaustion, a mental health crisis, the "great resignation", overwhelm, and many other such manifestations. Q: What’s the impact you’re seeking to make? A: I am here to give people back agency and control over the quality of their daily experiences! I do that by showing them how to release stress and regulate their emotions, reconnect with their personal power and ultimately, THRIVE!
