Acting Assistant Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge

Led a TSA Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR) team dedicated to providing a visible deterrent to terrorist activities. TSA VIPR operations are conducted in partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement as well as industry stakeholders in all modes of transportation including Commercial Aviation, Air Cargo, General Aviation, Mass Transit, Maritime, and Intercity Passenger rail.

Law Enforcement and Industry Training Division (LEITD)
Legal and Investigative Training Unit:
•	Supervisory responsibilities for developing and maintaining the approved FAMS Legal and Investigative curriculum, in close cooperation with representatives from the TSA Office of Chief Counsel
•	Supervisory responsibilities for all Legal and Investigative curriculum delivered to FAM Candidates attending FAMTP-II and FAM Instructors attending the Legal and Investigative Instructor Training Program
•	Supervisory responsibilities for a Lead Instructor and a team of instructors. Responsibilities include overseeing the work of the Lead Instructor, who in turn coaches and develops subordinate instructors and ensures the instructors are qualified in accordance with the Instructor Qualification Process.
•	Chaired the Legal and Investigative Curriculum Review Committee charged with updating all FAMS Legal and Investigative curriculum 
Field and International Training Unit:
•	Supervisory responsibilities for the FAMS International Training Program, including budgeting, scheduling, curriculum review, adjunct instructors, security clearances, lodging, transportation, and translation services
•	Supervisory responsibilities for the Field Office Training Assessments program with responsibility for ensuring standardized training delivery to all FAMs at the various field offices
Medical Training Unit: 
•	Supervisory responsibilities for the delivery of all FAM medical training
•	Supervisory responsibilities for ensuring adequate medical support for all training programs at the Federal Air Marshal Service Training Center
Collateral Duties:
•	Represented OTWE at live explosives tests designed to validate the Modified LRBL procedures and to test aircraft vulnerability to explosives
•	Selected the training methodology for the OLE/FAMS Alcohol Awareness Training course; authored the lesson plan and facilitator guide designed to address this critical issue facing the workforce

Section Chief

Senior Federal Air Marshal/Lead Instructor, General Training Section 
•	Primary Instructor for all Legal and Investigative curriculum, delivered to over 1,750 FAM Candidates attending FAMTP-II, including FAM Authority, Arrest Procedures, International Law, and Report Writing 
•	Coordinator for numerous Behavior Recognition Exercises at the Philadelphia International Airport
•	Primary Instructor for the Legal and Investigative Instructor Training Program (LIITP)
Field and International Training Unit:
•	Primary liaison between the FAMS Training Division and all of the FAMS Field Offices, responsible for LEITD external communications and broadcast messages sent to FAMS Field Offices
•	Coordinated logistics for all Instructor Training Programs held at the FAMS Training Center
•	Coordinated logistics for the 2012 International Air Marshal Training Workshop 
Collateral Duties:
•	Presented instruction on Explosives and Explosive Effects (EEE), and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to over 1,750 FAM Candidates, conducted, numerous live fire explosives demonstrations at the FAMS Explosive Proficiency Range using a variety of military and commercial explosives

FAM Instructor

Mission Status FAM (May 2002-May 2009)
•	Successfully completed over 1,900,000 mission flight miles as a FAM 
•	Selected to be the Team Leader on numerous international missions and served as Acting supervisor for my squad 
•	Field Office Trainer (March 2006-March 2008) 
        Responsible for training all assigned FAMs in firearms, defensive measures, mission tactics, Least Risk  Bomb Location (LRBL), and PT
•	Developed a surveillance detection / behavior recognition training course specifically for the Washington State Patrol; thereby, fostering a closer working relationship between the Washington State Patrol and FAMS Seattle Field Office.

Federal Air Marshal

U.S. Border Patrol

Graduated from USBP Academy Session #413. Assigned to Tucson Sector/Douglas Station, patrolled U.S./Mexico international border to detect, deter, and apprehend smugglers and illegal aliens using a variety of surveillance systems including infrared detection and night vision equipment, and traditional skills such as man-tracking and sign cutting. Conducted traffic checks and vehicle searches, interviewed material witnesses and suspects in trafficking cases.

As a Police Officer, conducted patrol and responded to reports of crimes in progress. 
Conducted initial and follow-up investigations as necessary. Arrested suspects. 
Conducted interviews of witnesses, victims, and suspects as necessary.
Prepared detailed reports, affidavits, complaints and other documents. Presented cases to the Special Assistant US Attorney as needed.

Police Officer

Texas Department of Criminal Justice

As a Criminal Investigator in the Internal Affairs Division, conducted complex and semi-complex investigations into allegations of administrative and criminal wrongdoing by inmates and employees of the agency.
Conducted physical and technical surveillance of suspects and locations. 
Conducted in-depth interviews of victims, witnesses and suspects. Seized evidence as required.
Made arrests and presented cases to prosecutors and grand juries.

Internal Affairs Investigator

U.S. Air Force

Graduate of the Naval School of Explosive Ordnance Disposal NAVSCOLEOD, class 25-S-89. U.S. Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Specialist trained to detect, identify, render safe, and dispose of hazardous U.S. and foreign ordnance. Assigned to Kirtland AFB, NM. Selected for promotion Below-the-Zone to E-4 Sergeant. Participated in numerous weapons development and exploitation projects with personnel from Sandia National Laboratory and the Air Force Weapons Laboratory. Extensive experience conducting explosive disposal operations and live fire explosives demonstrations.
Deployed to Doha AB, Qatar with 401st TFW during Operation Desert Storm. Trained base personnel in recognition and handling of unexploded ordnance. Conducted disposal operations in coordination with Canadian EOD and host nation forces. Responded to numerous calls involving unexploded ordnance, including a damaged AIM-9 Sidewinder on a battle damaged F-16. Following active duty, completed service in the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR).

As a Deputy Sheriff, conducted patrol and responded to reports of crimes in progress.

As part of my undergraduate internship, worked as a commissioned Investigator in the Brazos County Attorney's Office. Assisted prosecutors, located witnesses, served subpoenas and misdemeanor arrest warrants as needed.
