🤝 The Candidate I Didn’t Hire (But Still Won Big)

This week I reconnected with someone I did NOT hire years ago at 6sense.

But honestly? 

It’s always felt like I did.

We’ve stayed in touch, cheering each other on, swapping intros, sharing wins.

And it reminded me of something I never want to forget:

Recruiting isn’t just about filling roles. 

It’s about building relationships that last far beyond a job offer.

In a world overrun by AI tools, automations, and “efficiency hacks,” real connection is the ultimate competitive advantage.

This week, someone called me a “legit recruiter” (😂 still not totally sure what that means, but I’ll take it).

It got me thinking about the real secret behind any success I’ve had in this world of recruiting and relationships: 

Kindness. 

Because here’s the truth: kindness isn’t weakness. 

It’s quiet confidence. It’s strength wrapped in empathy. 

It’s the superpower that builds trust, connection, and credibility faster than any fancy title ever could.

🩷 World Kindness Day was yesterday, but I couldn’t let this week pass without celebrating the ripple effect of simply leading with heart.

💡 Kindness at work looks like:

💗 Giving feedback with empathy, not ego.
💗 Checking in on someone after a tough interview or meeting.
💗 Celebrating others — even when the spotlight isn’t on you.
💗 Extending the same grace to yourself that you give to others.

Because kindness to self matters just as much. 

The boundary you honor, the pause you take, the way you speak to yourself on hard days. 

That’s where sustainable success starts.

Kindness isn’t soft. It’s strategy. It’s culture. It’s leadership.

So even though the official day has passed,

🔹 Impact: Numbers > adjectives. “Grew revenue 40%” beats “strategically managed initiatives.”

🔹 Energy: The tone of your LinkedIn summary, your phrasing, even your headline — they all give me a feel for you.

🔹 Alignment: The best candidates don’t just want a job. They want this one.

🔹 Humanity: Authenticity always outshines polish.

We’re not just scanning resumes .
