Responsible for mentoring and guiding entrepreneurial faculty through the planning, forming, and funding phases of startup creation. Includes evaluating startup opportunities; confirming they should be pursued as startups rather than traditional licenses; and working with the inventor to prepare summaries of the opportunity, up to and including the initial business plan.  Aid in recruiting the startup CEO and assist in obtaining financing, and negotiate all license and equity agreements with faculty companies.  Connect entrepreneurial faculty with the appropriate legal and accounting resources, as well as funding opportunities (including SBIR/STTR), state grants, venture and angel capital, and industry-sponsored research.

In the CEO's Corporate Strategy group I led a small team researching tomorrow’s market for Electric Vehicles, Big Data, Connected Health, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Quantum Computing, and other technologies.

We helped incubate internal startup companies in design (Radius), 3D printing (LAYER3D), robotics (Badger Technologies), and supply chain (InControl).  We also supported a nascent Corporate Venture Capital interest with target evaluation and strategic fit analysis.

We've run fan events at SXSW, the 2016 Super Bowl, New York Comic Con, CMA's FanFest in Nashville, and even a book signing over the radio with RTE in Ireland!

Co-managed a team of 20 professional analysts who received numerous Commanders Coins and other accolades from SOF leaders. Supplied population segmentation and social networking analysis for influence operations, strategic communication, and behavioral modeling.  

Crafted talking points, white papers, and speeches for SOF leadership.  Represented USSOCOM in speaking at lectures/conferences for Johns Hopkins University, the Naval Post Graduate School, the National Defense University, MCIA, NGIC, and US Navy DevGroup.

Briefed Bush administration officials, members of Congress, and senior leaders in the Departments of State, Commerce, and USTR.
