As a Principal Information Security Architect at Scripps, I successfully applied over a decade of expertise to fortify the organization's cybersecurity posture, starting as an on-site team member and transitioning to a fully remote role following COVID. My career at Scripps was marked by consistent professional growth and increasing responsibilities, having been promoted from Information Security Analyst in December 2017 to Senior Information Security Analyst, and again in October 2021 to Principal Information Security Architect.

I was responsible for leading and executing comprehensive security strategies, from incident response to architectural design. I successfully led incident response efforts, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders to mitigate cyberattacks. I developed and implemented incident response plans and procedures, and proactively drove vulnerability assessments and remediation, which significantly enhanced the organization's security posture. I also collaborated with various teams to define security requirements and architect robust solutions that supported key business objectives. A key achievement was leading the selection and deployment of Avanan, a cloud-based anti-phishing solution for O365, and effectively leveraging Automox for patching and vulnerability management. This initiative reduced high and critical flaws by 90% on patchable systems and brought patch timetables to under 30 days. My experience also includes designing and implementing secure network topologies for critical legacy scientific computing systems.
