I am an ambitious professional working on expanding my career in Operations or Quality Management. I have a background of working in several cGLP, CLIA, and ISO-certified laboratories, including as a Quality Specialist. I am a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and am currently working on obtaining advanced certifications and further education to advance my career. I am also working on moving to eastern South Dakota in the future and am focused on networking with other professionals and executives in the area to learn more about their businesses and future opportunities. My current goal is to obtain a Management-level position in Quality. In my free time, I enjoy learning new things. I listen to several podcasts periodically on many topics, but I mostly get pumped up my Jayson Waller's True Underdog podcast about leadership and entrepreneurship, and intrigued by SDBio's InsideOut Quality podcast about case studies in the field of Quality. I try to keep a habit of reading at least one book a month. I found the biographies of Gene Kranz of NASA Mission Control, Kelly Johnson of the legendary Lockheed Skunkworks, and Ben Rich also of the Skunkworks to be some of the most fascinating. They had a tenacity and grit about themselves to accomplish amazing things, and motivate their teams to excellence. I seek to emulate elements of their leadership. While at Mayo Clinic, I have been taking internal education courses, as well as on Udemy.com to further my education on topics such as Quality Management and Lean Six Sigma. I have past experience with Lean Production as I was involved in two 'Kaizen' events in my time at Pace Analytical. I believe it to be the most efficient way to set up a process, with the caveat that all levels of an enterprise, from the technician up to company executives commit to adhere to Lean principles and invest the time and resources necessary to maintain a Lean culture. Another passion of mine is history and aviation. I was a member of the Commemorative Air Force in Dallas/Fort Worth and the Twin Cities, as well as Wings of the North in the Twin Cities. There, I helped restore and maintain vintage warbirds to flight readiness, history comes alive when an 80 year old radial engine comes to life!
