With High-performance sports playing such a large role in my life, transitioning into the workforce was hard. After completing my bachelor's degree, I knew I had enough value to bring to a company. The problem was I didn't know how to articulate it. I was naturally always a people person which led me into customer-facing positions in clothing and footwear retail to gym memberships while completing my degree in kinesiology. That being said, it wasn't like there was a job waiting for me. So I hit the pavement and applied to hundreds of jobs. I didn't know where to start or how to write a good resume. Enter Athlete Era, a small sport tech start-up. The perfect blend where I could nurture my skills in software sales while dipping my toes into marketing and customer success. Athlete Era has allowed me to let my inner competitive drive flourish while giving me the perfect environment to learn and brand myself. Fast forward to today, you'll find me in the higher education space as an Account executive with Cengage helping universities and colleges with their online learning platforms as we see a massive shift in our education system. Given my whirlwind of a pathway, one of my passions is advocating for athletes transitioning into the workforce. Having gone through it myself, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that come with this transition. I am also a strong believer in helping other athletes who are going through what I went through find their first job and navigate the job market.
