I come from the corporate world and worked as a programmer for industrial machines and robots. During my time in this industry I was working 70 h+ weeks, abroad - without friends and family for months. The work itself was really stressful most of the time and the majority of our leaders didn’t care about the opinions of the people working directly on the product. At the end of my journey I got fortunate enough to lead a team of programmers, which I saw as a turnaround only to realize, even though I liked the idea of being a team leader, I hate the work environment and the culture. So after suffering from burnout. I decided to quit and take a step back and reiterate on my future and tried to find my way. So After quitting I bought a van and began the process of converting it into a place for me to live and travel through europe in search of my passion. Of course as with most projects I went over my budget (I spent twice as much as planned) so I needed to find that passion faster than I planned. Enter my childhood friend Finn whom I went to elementary school with. Over the years I was following Finn’s journey since he quit university. I was really (and still am) impressed by his journey and found a lot of alignment in his values, and I knew I wanted to work with him because it just felt like the right step for me to be around someone who inspired me, and that is why when he was looking for a project manager, I reached out and told him that I would love to work for him, however, since I was still not done building the van I simply told him that I wanted to work with him so that if there was ever another opening at Project 33 in the future I would love to join him in his journey. So when he announced that he was looking for a second video editor I reached out again. I knew some video editing basics and I knew I would have to learn a lot but I knew I wanted to be a part of his company. So here I am, a little over a year later and I went from Video Editor to Creative Director.
