I help leaders and organizations make sense of change by designing narratives that align identity, culture, and direction. I’ve spent 30+ years navigating the frontlines of transformation—first in corporate media, where I led over $1B in revenue across AOL, Time Warner, and Gannett, and later in startups, innovation labs, and the emerging field of narrative design. Today, I’m the founder of Spatial Shift by Tobin, a Narrative Ideation Lab where I work with executives, founders, and teams to unlock what I call narrative worth—the third leg of the stool alongside net worth and self-worth. My work helps people and companies name who they are becoming before the world tells them who to be. I created frameworks like Designing for Narrative Whitespace™ and the Narrative Flywheel™, which have been used by Fortune 100s, foundations, universities, and early-stage disruptors alike. I co-authored Narrative Generation and co-founded The Narrative Playbook in response to the identity confusion unleashed by COVID.
