Arrived in Santa Barbara in June 1993 with what can only be described as crazy idea; launch a retail specialty coffee business and attend graduate school at UCSB.

Approached Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital (a 460 bed regional hospital) with a proposal and business plan, which was approved by the board of directors in August, 1993. We launched our business Thanksgiving Day 1993. We built the business with a passionate focus on amazing product quality and customer service excellence. Taza Blanca Espresso grew to be a local favorite and a legendary "secret spot" for truly the best espresso in town!

Sold ownership stake in business in 2004 to Larry & Jennifer - longtime Taza Blanca clientele.  Continued as management consultant to new ownership until December 2006.

Technology Consultant and Systems Engineer for small to mid-enterprise business clients across a variety of business sectors. Project work included Active Directory domain migrations; email system migrations; multiple Cisco PIX and SonicWALL UTM configurations and deployments.

Started as a Delivery Information clerk.  Promoted within 6 months to a QA position, then promoted again to supervisor.  Managed a team of 15 Delivery Information Specialists. Resolved escalated customer service issues with creative solutions and personal attention to the matter at hand.

Retired serial entrepreneur with 35+ years' experience scaling companies across multiple industries, including the successful sale of a technology services company to a private equity firm.

Today, my primary focus is managing our family’s investments across real estate ventures, private equity holdings, and building a family legacy.
