Led the finance, operations, and commercial agenda for an ambitious FMCG (soft drinks) start-up brand. Streamlined the business and re-structured the team following a period of significant investment in the cost base. Crowd, institutional and high net worth fund raising. Working closely with CEO/Founder to develop the brand and implement strategy whilst keeping VC partners informed and involved.

A broad role that encompassed contract manufacturing relationships and new business responsibility, leadership of customer contact team and working with the CEO, board and senior leadership team to deliver the strategic agenda.

Chief Operating Officer

Overarching financial control and stewardship of a £25m branded soft drink manufacturer employing c100 staff and PE owned (Langholm Capital LLP). Professionalised the business and enhanced all key financial metrics through a period of growth, acquisition and increased operational complexity. Worked closely with commercial team to enable revenue and profit growth through deep P&L understanding and providing a level of autonomy within a controlled framework. Partnering with the CEO, and reporting to the board, to maximise enterprise value of the FMCG branded business.

Maximised EBITDA (Whilst retaining a strong control and compliance culture)
-	Improved contract packaging gross margin percentage and cash contribution from loss making 
        to above industry average contributions
-	Sold trade and assets of loss making department
-	Introduced and managed commercial process to enhance profit performance and protect against 
        a variety of commercial risks
-	Led improvements in raw material and other purchasing

Maximised cash through a period of growth and increased trading complexity

-	Integrated cash metrics at various levels of the business
-	Delivered DWC improvement from 44 to 12 through improvements across DSO, DPO and DIO 
        against a backdrop of growth and increased trading complexity

Led acquisition, due diligence, financing, and synergy realisation of a bolt on branded business. Improved from break even to +20% EBITDA margin. Reviewed other acquisition targets and dealt with post deal responsibilities following initial PE purchase of the group

Managed risk across the business through ongoing maintenance of risk register and other management tools together with complex insurance claims

Took on responsibility for non-finance departments with a turnaround agenda

Kept the board up to date through quality management information, via board meetings and at any other time where board awareness was appropriate or compulsory.

Glennans Ltd.

Head of finance within an owner managed premium crisp manufacturer reporting into the CEO. Delivered significant cash and profit savings through improved reporting, supplier negotiation, improved working capital management, and project managed and delivered a variety of cost of goods reduction initiatives.

Worked closely with CEO to develop and deliver strategy. Central to the exit process (Sold to Tyrrells Crisps PE Backed FMCG company) ran FDD and other exit responsibilities. Remained with the post acquisition group through an integration phase then recruited to a new acquisition of the PE owners (Langholm Capital LLP).
