My first thought to work in the ecosystem started in college when I heard about VC and startups. And from that point, I always wanted to build a VC fund. I wrote my master's thesis on Venture Capital and its role in bridging the equity gap in Poland. My first experience with startups then was evaluating business plans for business angel guild competitions. After some time, I encountered a group of private investors who opened one of Poland's first private VC fund. I joined a team as the first member and was there to create all the processes from scratch. What was most valuable was the opportunity to meet most of the people in the ecosystem. I didn't know it then. But many of those connections helped me in the future in building my own VC.The fund was closed after the unfortunate death of the fund founder and my mentor. At that time, I worked in two seed funds investing in PL and Europe. Where I learned different approaches to seed investing. In the meantime, Rndity software hardware house, whose projects were acquired by the most prominent players in tech, asked me to be their advisor. It was a great experience as Rndity developed its own vc creation arm, so it was a new experience to see how that kind of structure works and what challenges it has. After a while, I became an investment manager in a fund that invested in energy tech startups across Europe. During that time, I learned about the startup ecosystem in most European countries. The portfolio comprised more than 200 startups, so I traveled extensively in those days. I have even been the chairman of the biggest energy startup competition in Europe 🙂, which was a great experience. During this time, I met my future business partner. An opportunity arose to combine private capital with state capital and open a fund through the Bridge Alpha program, investing in projects at the seed stage. I took that chance and raised private capital (on which I could write a book- it's not easy 😉), and that's how LT Capital started its journey. And... We launched the fund in 2017 and were one of the most active funds in the region, investing in 34 great founders. In 2023, in a joint venture between LT Capital and Core Law, a company, Grants Avenue, was formed that helps obtain grants from the EU for companies creating innovations while assisting with legal and HR. Now all my time is engaged in the further building of LT Capital :) The next big stage of this story is coming soon 😉🤫🤫🤫
