ASO was a blast, but I was itching for the next big challenge.

Small company, no processes, and more work than bodies—a total cheat code. Suddenly, I’m handed a $300k monthly budget. 'Here’s your playground. Bring us ROAS. Questions? Feel free.'

My competitive side was buzzing. First, I scaled Instagram Ads to perform like Facebook Ads—in a vertical where 'IG will never work'. Challenge accepted and crushed.

Next, I scaled Snapchat Ads to Facebook levels. This was back in 2019 when people thought Snap was either dead or only for teens to send nudes. Well, let the teens do what teens need to do, and we focus on ROAS, shall we?

Then, I was one of the first advertisers outside China to hit up TikTok Ads. It was so early, I had to speak to actual humans just to open an ad account. Wild to think about now.

Long story short, my team managed to 5X one product and soft launch a bunch of new titles.

User Acquisition / Media Buying

I knew nothing about ASO so I'm not sure how I landed this job.

But, I was a self-taught SEO expert which gave me a leg up: same game, different playground.

App Stores were (and still are) terrible at analytics, which led to me thinking: why don't I just create my own dashboard?

So, ironically, I learned a lot about data: structuring, processing, refining, ETLs and visualization. I built my own Tableau dashboard following YouTube tutorials.

THE BROTHERHOOD 

My very first attempt at entrepreneurship. I failed miserably but walked away with one epic takeaway: a list of everything I sucked at that’s absolutely vital to running a digital company.

I turned that list into my holy grail. Every time I took on something new, I’d check—am I tackling one of my weaknesses? If not, see ya. Used this method for college, every job after, and any project I jumped into.

They say Warren Buffett would’ve never gone for Coca-Cola if he hadn’t first picked up See’s Candies. The candy business taught him everything he needed to know about CPG. For me? The Brotherhood is my See’s Candies.
