As a member of the CAT Team I disseminated information/directives from Base Commanders to units and responding personnel on necessary actions thru NIPRnet and SIPRnet systems, including using sharepoint software.  I also operated Audio/Visual equipment used by Base Commanders to monitor and stay current of the emergency situation. I was also responsible for maintaining and verifying all computers and equipment used during Emergencies, Crisis, and Exercises. The Crisis Action Team is the military equivalent of the Incident Command Center.  The CAT Team informed base Commanders of all emergency situations and recovery progress occurring on base or in affected off-base areas.  I was also responsible for making updates to the base wide Quick Reaction/Emergency Checklist (Classified and Unclassified) for actions that need to be/or have been accomplished utilizing Microsoft Sharepoint Program.

Crisis Action Team (CAT) Administration Section

As the Billing Manager, I ensured accurate billing of INMARSAT Telecommunications and Swift 64 High Speed Data systems to customers, and reconciliation of all accounts for accuracy. I certified that all billed charges were routed to the appropriate agencies and recovered over $1.2 Million (cumulatively) from billed organizations.

As the ADPE Custodian I was responsible for tracking the distribution and placement of new and upgraded computers and associated equipment, including all SIPRnet/NIPRnet computers, Tactical Local Area Network Encryption (TACLANE) equipment, printers, Blackberry Phones, PDA’s, printers and scanners.  I had to ensure the proper removal and disposal/recycle/re-sell of obsolete and defective equipment.  I also coordinated the procurement of computers and computer related equipment, to include new technology equipment for use within unit

Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) Custodian

As the Information Assurance Officer/Information Security Officer I was responsible for certifying all unit NIPRnet /SIPRnet computers and associated equipment (Printers, scanners, etc) for utilization on base LAN Network. I managed the Network Security program within my unit ensuring compliance was maintained.  I audited all computer equipment to ensure proper software was loaded and non-approved software was removed, and all vulnerabilities within the computer equipment were corrected.  I ensured all commercial off-the-shelf products complied with Department of Defense (DOD) standards for operation on DOD and Air Force Network.  I verified computer security and reminence security procedures were followed; and confirmed and verified that all Computer Emissions Security inspections and certifications were accomplished for protection of personal, classified and sensitive information. I ensured that proper procedures for the removal of computer equipment from LAN network and proper disposition were followed.  I also managed and maintained the user agreements for all unit personnel utilizing computers, PDA’s, and smartphones utilized on Air Force resources.  I was responsible for training personnel on computer policies and procedures, including procedures for reporting of malicious logic and intrusion detection on Air Force resources.  Responsible for the containment and minimizing of loss due to careless practices and the containment of classified email sent on unclassified network. Ensured classified data could not be recovered and unclassified systems restored to network for use with minimum loss of production time.

Information Assurance Officer/Information Systems Security Officer

I was responsible for installation and allocations of all telephones and multi-numbered telephonic devices within the unit.  I maintained the inventory of phones, Iridium phones and INMARSAT devices installed on aircrafts. I was responsible for acquiring, configuring and replacing all wireless devices, including cell phones and blackberry devices in use by unit personnel.  I was responsible for exchanging the data streams on blackberry devices when unit command personnel changes occurred and negotiated several contracts, from INMARSAT Provider service (SATCOM Direct, Telenor, etc) to cell phone provider contracts.  I have experience with Sole Source contracting and consolidating contracts and services.  I implemented all Telecommunications Service Request (TSR) with Defense Information Systems Agencies (DISA) for all aircraft communications system, and monitored all TSR request thru implementation of Telecommunications Service Orders (TSO).  I coordinated with Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) to ensure services for aircraft communications were approved for use, and were supported.  I acquired and maintained all two way land mobile radios, re-keying with the proper encryption at prescribed intervals.

Telephone Control/Personnel Wireless Communications Manager

As the
COMSEC Custodian I identified and acquired all classified materials required for utilization on aircraft equipment.  My responsibilities included maintaining sound audit controls for highly classified communications security material.  I ensured proper handling and destruction of classified material in accordance with policies and directives.  I accounted for all Simple Key Loaders (SKL), Secure Telephone Equipment (STE), An/CYZ-10’s, KYK-13’s, KOI-18’s, KSV-21’s, and all classified publications and digital media. I provided training and mentor other personnel on the acquisition, handling/use, accounting and destruction of classified materials in accordance with National Security Agency Directives.  I was responsible for the operation of the Sensitive Compartmental Information Facility (SCIF) in accordance with Director of Central Intelligence Directive (DCID) 6/9.

Communications Security (COMSEC) Responsible Officer

As a C-37A Communications System Operator I managed the secure communications requirements for 7 Combatant Commanders and other U.S. Government leaders on a specially configured Gulfstream V aircraft. This was accomplished via Clear and Secure Telephones and Fax, UHF Satellite Communications Systems, International Maritime Satellite Organization (INMARSAT) and Swift 64 High Speed Data Networks.  I was also responsible for the configuration of the aircraft LAN system utilizing on board routers that enabled the user to have reach back capability to the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Unclassified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet) and DISN Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) via airborne Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) links over Global Area Network (GAN) system.  I would configure customer equipment for use on Aircraft LAN and data systems, providing technical support and assistance to meet the needs of the primary user.  I was also responsible for all Communications Security (COMSEC) material and equipment on the aircraft; and the destruction reports of the classified materials.

C-37A Communications Systems Operator

As the Network Administrator I was responsible for creating personnel (User) profiles, email accounts, and network email distribution list.  I created computer profiles for access to base LAN/WAN systems and added computers to the local domain. I had to associated all computers with their peripheral equipment (i.e.: printers, scanners, etc) and connected computer and associated equipment to Base Local Area Network (LAN).  I maintained 2 SQL servers and the database contained within them and limited all access to databases to authorized personnel only.  I assisted the ADPE custodian in the placement and removal of all computers and associated equipment.  I resolved all computer and computer related problems within unit, returning productivity to 100%.  I loaded unit/mission specific software on unit computers.  I initiated all request to approve utilization of software necessary for use within unit that was not on DOD or USAF Approved Software listings, and followed up until approval for use was granted.  In conjunction with the Information Assurance Officer/Information Systems Security Officer, I was responsible for containing and removing malicious logic from computers, servers, and network, and updating anti-virus definitions on all computers and servers.  I was responsible for employing protection, back up and recovery operations for computer and networks within my unit during natural, man-made, and cyber emergencies and disasters.  I ensured efficient operation of all computers on base LAN/WAN.

Network Administrator/Client Systems Administrator

While serving as the Unit Security Manager, I was responsible for Physical Security and Information Security within the organization.  I ensured classified materials were properly marked, shipped and protected IAW DCID 6/4, DCID 6/9, and DOD Reg 5200.1R; and that all classified material were received, stored, shipped, de-classified and destroyed utilizing proper equipment and in the prescribed manner.  I Identified personnel requiring periodic re-investigation to re-certify their Security Clearance, assist them in maintaining a current Security Clearance in accordance with their assigned duties, and revoking them when appropriate (retirement, transfer, or withdrawal of Security Clearance).  I identified personnel who required access into restricted/controlled areas on installation and coordinated that access for personnel to carry out their duties.  I was also responsible for tracking and accounting over 250 people’s security clearance utilizing the Defense Security Services Joint Personnel Adjudication System.  I initiated investigations into breaches of security policies or procedures and recommended corrective action to Commander.  I ensured that all Security education and training requirements were complied with.

Unit Security Manager

As the communications systems operator on the AWACS aircraft.  I accumulated 2120 Flight hours including 5 deployments into Operation Southern Watch and 7 deployments into the Operation Northern Watch Area of Operations.  Responsible for all coordination of radio and data links requirements for the Aircraft Flight Crew, Mission Crew, and command agencies.  I was responsible for configuration control of the UHF SATCOM Systems.  I was also responsible for configuring and operating all UHF Transceiver radios, VHF/AM, VHF/FM and HF radios during mission use to maintain communications with friendly assets; Command and Control (C2) centers, and Air Traffic Control (ATC).  I configured and operated HF/UHF and SATCOM UHF data links and software for mission use, TADIL-A, TADIL-C and JTIDS data links. Encrypted radio transmissions via KY-58 (VINSON), Advanced Narrowband Digital Voice Technology encryption systems, and KY-75 (PARKHILL).  I also configured aircraft Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) equipment.  I was responsible for the coordination, acquisition, controlling and distribution of all encryption/classified materials and configuration of the encryption equipment onboard the aircraft.  Examined the Air Tasking Order and Special Instructions for directives pertaining to next day’s aircraft sortie. Received and provided intelligence briefings and taskings.  Participated in mission debriefs and advised Commanders, intelligence officers, and maintenance personnel.

E-3B/C AWACS Communications Systems Operator

As a Police Officer, I was entrusted with Desk Sergeant duties, equivalent to a civilian 911 call center and police dispatcher.  I was also responsible for writing incident reports and the police blotter, which was distributed to all base agencies, including the Judge Advocate General (JAG) and the Installation Commander.  I monitored all alarmed facilities on base and coordinated arming and disarming of alarms with facility managers, logged alarm events as required.  I also performed duties as Police Officer including Patrol, Traffic Stops, Vehicle Searches, Traffic Control Points, Investigation of Criminal Acts and Building Checks.  I responded to multiple incidents including criminal activities often resulting in apprehension and/or detainment of personnel.
