I lead a team responsible for ensuring compliance with international trade regulations on over $737 million in annual US and MX imports. My experience includes implementing foreign trade zones, managing duty drawback programs, maintaining CTPAT, conducting risk assessments for potential acquisitions, and presenting trade data. I also actively contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the company, serving as a leader in LGBTQ+ employee resource group and lead the programming committee of Inspiring Women in Bunzl group.

I developed and managed standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring efficient and consistent processes. Additionally, I conducted store audits, importer self-assessments, and managed regulatory permits. My efforts resulted in a significant reduction in brokerage fees and import holds. I was tasked with overseeing hiring, onboarding, and performance.

Global Trade Compliance 

I maintained a deep understanding of US Customs regulations, including advanced knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). I have successfully classified products across 68 of the 99 HTS chapters, managing a complex SKU list of over 160,000 items. I provide essential trade compliance information to the merchant team, including PGA details, ADD/CVD rates, FTA requirements, UOM specifications, and 301 duties. On average, I classify 65,000 SKUs per year, ensuring the lowest legal duty is incorporated into the landed cost and paid to the correct government agency.
