I’ve used a total of 11 marketing automation tools and sat in on 50+ demos of others. Customer.io is my all time favourite, and I don’t say this lightly.

That’s why I’m incredibly excited to announce that Customerio and Humans of Martech are partnering for the next 12 months. 

When I was hired at Close to lead marketing ops, the first project was to migrate to Customer.io which was already integrated with customer data and being used by the product team. I'm excited to dive back into the tool as we've just finished setting it up for our Humans of Martech newsletter.

So why am I so high on this tool?

It has the best looking and most intuitive visual workflow builder and a personalized home page dashboard (monitor running campaigns, tests, and key list growth). You’ll actually love the UI vs dreading to open it every day. 

Just that alone would be an insane breath of fresh air if you’re still using a clunky old legacy platform. You can start a free trial of CIO without a credit card so you have no excuse to at least have a peak at the UI.

But it’s also packed with features that’ll make you wonder how the hell you managed without them and why others lack these essentials. My favorites are:

- Queue draft mode: the ability to QA workflow messages and conditions in production with real users before anything is sent

- Holdout tests: sure you can A/B test emails and individual workflow branches, but you can also set holdout parameters to measure the incremental impact of your campaigns

- Copy workflow steps: Instead of just cloning workflows, you can copy individual or multiple workflow steps so you don't have to start from scratch when creating a new automated campaign
