With many years working within the public health system, being an accredited trainer with QLD Health and having obtained a Graduate Diploma and Masters degree in Mental Health, I am now using my skills and experience to train front line workers within the health industry on how to protect themselves from occupational violence. It is an unfortunate fact that those working within the health industry are the mostly likely to suffer from aggressive patients and violence in the workplace. While employers have a statutory obligation to maintain a safe work environment for their staff, in some cases aggression in the workplace is not being dealt with effectively and safely. Working with the leading health industry consulting company, HIES, I have been providing in person and zoom training sessions to all staff in specialist medical and general practice. This training focuses on de-escalating techniques as well as highly practical sessions on dealing with aggressive phone calls, using body language to de-escalate aggressive patients, how and when to use self-defense depending on your state, and many other practical techniques to keep your staff safe We offer tailored training packages which are delivered in house or via Zoom depending on your location and needs.
