WHO I AM Experienced Pathologist and Educator with expertise in Dermatopathology, Cancer Biology and predictive biomarker development, passionate about personalized medicine, diagnostic excellence and artificial intelligence in pathology. WHAT I DO I work as a subject matter expert (pathologist) in the biopharmaceutical industry. I collaborate with teams to solve complex problems in biomarker assay development for clinical trials and future regulatory submission. I also support the development of companion diagnostic (CDx) in-vitro devices, oncology drug development, and clinical trials. I am a team player and an experienced leader with excellent communication skills and expertise in cancer biology. In addition to my regular responsibilities as a pathologist, I also volunteer as a life coach in the Roche Career Center. MY EXPERTISE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS I am dual boarded in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology. I trained in Anatomic Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital, including the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Institute, and in Dermatopathology within the Combined Harvard Dermatopathology Fellowship program which encompasses the Massachusetts General Hospital, the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the Beth Israel Hospital and the Dana Farber Institute. I studied under the direction of many renowned experts, including Dr. Martin Mihm, an internationally recognized expert in dermatopathology. I earned an MD from the University of Arizona. My scientific background includes a PhD in Cancer Biology from the University of Arizona Cancer Center where I studied alterations of the alpha6beta4 integrin in prostate cancer progression and skin maturation model systems. PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS My professional interests include artificial intelligence, digital pathology and molecular pathology. My dermatopathology interests include atypical melanocytic neoplasms and melanoma, adnexal neoplasms, alopecia and complex inflammatory skin disease. I am also passionate about teaching and have experience working with medical students, graduate students, and residents in both dermatology and pathology, in subject areas including pathology, histology, cancer biology and dermatopathology. Additionally, I am the author of a weekly newsletter for physicians on LinkedIn called The Happy Physician: A Practical Guide.
