I have the privilege of leading the innovation arm of IPG Mediabrands.

Our team discovers and implements new ways for brands to engage consumers using cutting edge technologies. Clients included L’Oréal Nyx, Miller Coors, Exxon Mobil, Spinmaster Toys and Coca-Cola. 

We have five core capabilities of the Lab; a partnership team that speaks daily with all of the world's best startups and tech pioneers, a publishing team that identifies trends and interprets tech news, a research team to prove or disprove new technologies, a team that manages our 3000sq ft physical Lab and also a client solutions team that invents and implements custom client programs.

Working for Mediabrands my role is to oversee the operations of all companies within the Group, providing direct, senior level support for the CEOs of Initiative and UM, as well as the leaders of all other Mediabrands’ businesses.

Core focus is on leveraging our abilities to broaden our clients’ ROI and to ensure we are tapping into all our capabilities in the right way at the right time. Key to this role is ensuring all companies within the Group work together smoothely and with maximum efficiency. 

In addition to the above, my role includes the assessment of new business opportunities for the Mediabrands Group and the establishment and operationalising of such entities when required.

In 2011 I helped establish our creative agency, Airborne and led the set up of Cadreon to become what is now widely regarded as the market-leading DSP.

In 2013 we acquired and successfully integrated market-leading mobile production/creative/media capabilities with Mnet (www.mnetmobile.com.au).

During this transitional period, as well as my regular role as Commercial Director of Mediabrands I had a focus on the day-to-day operations of Initiative.

During this period we saw staff stability at record lows, staff survey results increase substantially and as a result of great people and great work we added many new clients to the agency roster.

Key responsibilities include building publisher and technology partner relationships both domestically and internationally as well as managing the Australian operation. Cadreon is a specialized marketing services platform that integrates technology, data and inventory to manage audiences for our clients. We deliver highly efficient and optimised digital inventory resulting in significant performance improvements and valuable audience insights.

As Managing Director of UM's Sydney office I was responsible for over 100 staff and creating marketing solutions for clients across all disciplines including traditional media, digital, search, social media, events and branded content.

I'm most proud that after 5 years at UM we transformed the agency from lower ranking to be the #1 Media Agency office in Australia as awarded by Adnews when assessing 2010 and also from RECMA.

I'm driven by client growth and innovation through the coordination, education and motivation of the best talent in Australia.

Responsible for the training and integration of all staff to become cross-skilled and experts in digital media as well as traditional media.

Established beneficial trading arrangements with key online partners to deliver exceptional client value and benefits.

Introduced and trained staff in key digital tools and systems to increase the ROI, understanding and sophistication of digital planning.

National Digital Director

Managed one third of all staff in the Sydney UM office and focused on the flawless delivery of exceptional integrated client solutions. In addition I led a number of new business wins.

Clients included Microsoft and Xbox, Youi Car Insurance, MasterCard, AMP, Bacardi and Intel.

Key achievements include six Media Federation Awards and also two Cannes finalists.

Working alongside my Podean partner and company founder, Mark Power, we are creating an agency like no other in the Amazon and marketplaces space. 

We deliver on media, retail and strategy needs for progressive brands that want innovative solutions that deliver results over the long term rather than just the hit delivered from an Amazon search or retail agency. 

Our proposition was crafted with the input from Amazon’s most senior leaders and some of the world’s top CMOs to fill the strategic gap. We work with brands on their product setup and media to drive sales. We work with media and creative agencies to provide Amazon expertise for their clients. We also work with media companies to create and market new e-commerce ad products.
