I am a cultural interpreter and translator. I worked for 4 years in the heart of the Empire ... the UK statistics organization that traces its roots back to the 1066 domesday book. I also did work for Eurostat and the International Labour Organization finding ways to make labour market and time use data (which is used worldwide to build policy measures for places like the OECD, tequiring internstional consistency within measures) more inclusive across genders and cultures in 2004. I also worked for the Canadian government, two provincial governments (BC and Alberta - polar opposites on the poltical spectrum), which included pan-Canadian policy and strategy coordination for emergency management. leaving colonial government, i worked for tue Métis Nation and now work Indigenous governing body, now I work on reserve supporting First Nations recovery after disasters. One of my dads is a political refugee from Chile, and grew up in the Chilean diaspora. There are few people who have the kind of cultural immersion in their professional experience across multiple governments in different roles, not as a consultant going from one to another. I have studied well-being from the nehiyaw (cree), siksika (blackfoot), and Métis worldviews, with a focus on Lii Métis Tohtamowin (Red River Cart Wheel teachings). I am also a sociologist with expertise in the labour market and understanding structural dynamics that (re)create situations that can cause trauma without the tools to navigate these situations. My practice includes decolonization, somatic embodiment and regulation strategies to help people build a good life through learning to build secure attachment. I am a queer, Métis single mum of two living and practicing in amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton).
