I founded Upwordly Content with a single mission: helping marketers and leaders tell stories that make a positive difference. Our digital marketing content for purposeful brands and nonprofits connects with values-led audiences to create the positive change the world needs now. Our strategic storytelling resonates by following a rigorous process to intentionally identify and connect with your audience's needs. We combine art, science, business and psychology to capture their attention, earn their trust and influence them to act. We develop storytelling playbooks, content strategies, and content for purpose-led brands and I speak on storytelling to share our recipes for resonating with founders and teams. We’ve used our storytelling strategies with integrity to create: *Persuasive copy for 90+ websites; *100s of story-driven blog articles, guides and video scripts earning millions of engagements, views and downloads; *Donor emails for two nonprofits, leading to $40M+ in fundraising since 2020; *Compelling impact reports that people actually enjoy reading. Our people-first, story-driven content has impacted thousands of Canadians, helping seniors find community, children connect with mental health support, youth receive scholarships, and more. Our industry-leading clients—including the Sunnybrook Foundation, Capitalize for Kids, Green Living Enterprises, Catholic Children's Aid Foundation, Heart Valve Voice Canada, Amica Senior Living and Chartwell—have grown their audiences, engagement, loyalty and donations. Before founding Upwordly, I've been an award-winning magazine journalist, author and speaker. I held senior editing gigs at Chatelaine, Today’s Parent and House & Home, and led profitable digital relaunches for Chatelaine.com and Houseandhome.com. I've helped best-in-class companies like LCBO, TD, Scotiabank, Home Depot achieve their goals by connecting meaningfully with their audiences through storytelling. I'm the author and ghostwriter of three books. I am the Secretary on the board of Cassie + Friends, a registered charity on a mission to end pain for children living with rheumatic diseases such as juvenile arthritis. I am a member of the Professional Advisory Council for the Advertising & Communications program at Sheridan College. Through my adventures in cycling and cold plunges, I'm fundraising $100,000 for causes that support people with health issues.
