Curiosity is defined as a strong desire to know or learn something which I believe provides good insight into what drives me. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a curious appetite, which is reflected in my work experience. Work for me is all about the journey and doing your best each day! Stacking enough days together you see results and that approach has served me well. Challenges and obstacles happen along the way, but the best approach is to assess and adjust while keeping forward movement. My work experience reflects my curiosity, and my view that the journey is the most important activity. I’m convinced that a professional journey is more often comprised of upward, sideways, downward, diagonal moves that are unique to each person. People are the most important part of any work experience which spans collaborating, partnering, mentoring, hiring, challenging, listening, enabling, etc. People are complex and there is no “one-size fits all” approach but rather an individualistic approach which takes time, patience, and a desire to play the long-game. A mentor of mine once said, “You’re only as good as your people” which sums up my philosophy. Results matter and you need to evaluate data to ensure results are continuously delivered.
