I am driven by my dual passions of education and technology. By holding a leadership position in and overseeing the technology of a school, I have the opportunity to continue pouring myself into both passions simultaneously. As the product of a prestigious independent school, I embrace the mission of academic excellence and personal growth through character development that drives such institutions. Having been first a student and now an administrator of an independent school, I recognize and appreciate the value of the work being done every single day by both the faculty and the staff. My desire is to help facilitate all of that great work so that our students receive the true benefit: an educational experience that forms a great foundation for successful lives. I am and always will be a student and a learner. Through that lens, I have been able to successfully work with faculty and staff with a range of technical proficiency. I have learned that effectively communicating and empathizing with any end user will enable me to better reach them in terms of training, guidance or advice. I value the relationship that I work to build with each faculty and staff member, and I know that as long as I present myself as approachable and supportive, I will have the opportunity to build that necessary trust with them. Although I have always been known as “the IT guy” during my career, I am thankful that I have not been limited to that role. Because of my skill set, I have been able to play key roles in non-IT projects and discussions, including admissions, development, finance and classroom learning, to name a few. I am not and never will be the IT person who cares only about the network and the servers. If there is a way in which I can help, even if it has nothing to do with technology, I am more than happy to take part. As a result, I have been relied upon, in some fashion or form, in every area of school life, and I have enjoyed those experiences tremendously.
