Umakant Narkhede, CPCU's Linkedin Analytics

Umakant is a visionary leader with an impressive two-decade track record in the global technology and business process services industry, specifically within the realm of insurance. He is currently heading Infinite’s Insurance unit, focusing on reimagining insurance through the integration of Generative AI and AI with modern data, digital, and cloud capabilities. Before joining Infinite, Umakant was the Sales Leader for GenAI/AI go-to-market focused on Financial Services Industry and Head of the Midsized Insurance segment during his tenure with Infosys. Prior to Infosys, he served as General Manager at DXC Technology, where he oversaw a portfolio of strategic customers. Before that, he was Vice President at Majesco and an AVP/Global Client Partner at Mphasis, a Blackstone company. At Mphasis, he executed global account growth strategies and led account teams across three regions: the US, Europe, and Australia. During his career, he has been recognized for his Generative AI go-to-market strategy and execution in the recent past at Infosys. His achievements in business with profitable growth, and top-quartile customer satisfaction, earned him DXC's prestigious Platinum Circle Award in 2019, which recognizes the top 2% of frontline sales leaders globally, as well as Mphasis’ Breakthrough Deal of the Year annual awards three times (in 2015, 2013, and 2011), Sales Exemplar Awards twice (in 2012 and 2011), and several other nominations. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Umakant has earned the designation of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the Institutes. Most recently, he began serving as the Ethics Chair for the CPCU Society - CPCU Iowa Chapter, where Iowa has the highest concentration of insurance companies and talent in the region and a thriving chapter. Umakant holds a Post Graduate Program (PGP) in AI & ML from the University of Texas at Austin, along with recognition as an “Industrialized AI Leader” through Open Badge Academy in 2019. He also has a PGP in Cloud Computing from the University of Texas at Austin, a PGDM in Marketing from the Alliance Business School, and a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering. Umakant has authored several publications, including "Data and AI in Financial Services" and "Synthetic Data: The Catalyst for AI Breakthroughs in Financial Services." He has also been a featured speaker at several events, most notably at the Insurance Broker Advisory Board on the topic of "AI Transformation in the Insurance Industry."
