We all make mistakes. That is the first thing I learned at the beginning of my writing, proofreading, and editing career. However, it is what we do with those mistakes that matters. Personally, I welcome them. They are, in my book, a fantastic learning experience and the foundation upon which success is built in this field of work. It is only by making mistakes that we can learn how to better ourselves and perfect our craft. Another essential thing I learned was that working with text can quickly become monotonous. Luckily, there is a way around that — an occasional sip from an inexhaustible spring of love. Trust me; it does wonders! Just be careful — love is a lot like a drug. It’s addictive. Hi! My name is Uroš, and I have a problem. I’m addicted to the written word. I’ve been doing creative writing since my late high school years (both in Serbian and English) and have taken serious steps toward perfecting my skills ever since. Perhaps the most prominent example was my engagement in multiple creative writing workshops and projects, such as the ones with the nonprofit organization “The Balkan Writers Project.” I’ve been utilizing the vast knowledge I’ve gained through my creative endeavors in my professional career as well. I’ve been editing and proofreading for several years now, mostly in the area of digital marketing, content writing, and copywriting. During that time, I’ve gained solid knowledge of SEO through self-learning and work with content optimization and SEO-friendly web content. I’ve also had an opportunity to hone my managerial skills after being promoted to the position of a senior proofreader while working for SelectX Marketing. There, I served as a mentor to my proofreading team, organized and optimized the proofreading process, and did regular performance evaluations. Aside from that, I actively worked with the members of the content team by providing them regular and extensive feedback.
