AS the member of WOMEN GLOBAL LEADERS COMMITTEE at WBAF: I believe it is of significant importance to enhance Women Empowerment and raise awareness of the necessity of establishing more legal and institutional frameworks which should explicitly include the principles of non-discrimination, gender equality, and the right of women to participate on an equal footing with men across all sectors. Valeriya Hjertenaes is a professional cross-cultural manager with more than 15 years of leading roles in different countries, continents and across industry sectors: ranging from non-profit organisations, charity foundations, consulting in the corporate sector and international companies presented both in Eastern and Western Europe. She is a human rights activist focusing on the search for sustainable solutions to issues arising in the field: transnational situations, intersectional needs and vulnerabilities of refugees, parentless children, disabled and displaced people and immigrants. Key Responsibilities: developing, curating, mentoring and building contents of the programs of collaboration together with Royal Norwegian Honorary Consulate in Ukraine, Honorary Iceland Consulate in Mexico, academicians, human rights practitioners and political actors from different continents. As part of her research, Valeriya collaborates with key persons which are making changes in energy efficiency by giving us the real chance to fight against the worst effects of climate change.
