I am a Local Councillor and have been a Cabinet Lead with two different portfolios covering environment, public health, climate change and equalities am a forward thinking, outcome focused, ensuring process is followed with good governance and due diligence and a collaborative team worker. Having also been a school governor, has enabled me to gain wide knowledge about how the council and education systems work. Have board level experience to challenge, be objective, scrutinise and be a critical friend and work toward good outcomes for all. I also working in the retail sector in the management team as Administrator, training, recruiting, payroll and having held many different posts has given me a wide range of experiences in retail. As a manager working with staff and ensuring we look after them and also support them to fulfil their full potential and also give customers the best shopping experience. Chairing many committees and leading on the Climate agenda, on Diversity and Equalities and on public health has enabled me to work across the council’s different departments. I have applied board level experience to view projects objectively, oversee potential outcomes and manage expectations, challenging and scrutinizing council processes. Making changes to policies, reviewing processes and training courses and doing workshops to support the changes and wider understanding, I work closely, inclusively and collaboratively with staff groups and management to ensure workable outcomes are put forward that benefit residents and improve services. putting forward the strategic vision and priorities of the administration working with officers and other partners to ensure the best outcomes for all.
