After completing my first year at Grad school, I started working as Graduate analytics and engineering at Visual BI solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities
-- Developed windows installers for all the modules of VBI View which enables hassle-free product installation and upgrades.
-- Developed a generic backup utility script in python which can take the backup of the configuration and other required files, database for the Visual BI products which reduced human intervention during updates.
-- Design, develop and maintain the REST APIs using python Flask framework for handling web services for VBI view.

After completing my undergraduate degree, I was recruited by Tesco Bengaluru. I worked in Data engineering and Supply chain insights team as a software engineer for 4 years. Below are my roles and responsibilities.
-- Worked as Principle developer in the team of 5 engineers in implementing the supply chain sales and forecasting algorithm on Hadoop platform which led to high data availability and reduced data traffic on EDW server.

-- I was part of Tesco Top 5 priority project – Finance Transformation program which aims at calculating the operational sales which are used to measure the operational performance that is closely aligned to the sales metric communicated.

-- Worked closely with UK IT Supply chain team to gather requirements and implemented New Generation Forecasting which involves developing ETL and writing complex views in Semantic Layer.

-- Archived 7 years’ worth Tesco broadband data on Hadoop by taking the data from an external vendor and developed an indexing functionality to retrieve the archived customer’s bill efficiently.

-- Achieved CPU savings of about 500K CPU cycles by optimization of Teradata batch queries (PI change, PPI, Statistics Re-collection at an optimal interval/random Amp sampling) which resulted in an hour per day savings in the peak hour window.

-- Developed and implemented the complex ETL solution for Group Promotional Forecasting model for Tesco Lotus(Thailand) which provides near real-time accurate promotion forecasting to deliver availability, waste and stockholding benefits and I was also nominated and sent to work on-shore in Thailand for few weeks to collaborate with Thailand supply chain team.

-- Core team member for migrating the Tesco Master data warehouse appliance from old Teradata server running on V13 to new Teradata server running on V15 and ensured 0% data loss.

--Up-skill the team in Hadoop Technologies, training fresher College Graduates.
