The more time I spend experimenting with my own content here on LinkedIn, the more I realize one simple truth: 

Poeple are tired of corporate-talk. 
People are tired of AI-written posts. 
People are tired of content-less content. 

Get your heads out of the sand and start looking outside of what these so-called "gurus" tell you how to grow your socials. Just show yourself as you are.

It's liberating.

According to Buffer, the best content to post on LinkedIn, if rated by media engagement rate, is...

✨ Video content. ✨

This means people will have to start creating more video content in order to perform better on this platform...

So should I start too? 🤔 

I confess I'm camera shy. Scratch that, I despise it. Fervently.

But if it means it will help my personal brand gain a considerable boost then I must get my courage up a few notches and at least try. 

The funny part? I help my clients conquer this fear daily, and sending help with video content tips all the time. But, alas, doing it on myself is still a pain.

I even went and bought a pair of small microphones, in the hopes of getting inspired to create more video content. But hearing my voice and seeing my face is so cringey... Ughhhhhhhhh 💥 


Here's just a short clip as I start conquering my fear, one step at a time. After all phobias need some CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), and well, as cliché as it sounds, Rome wasn't built in a day. 


So, bear with me as I step into the spotlight, awkwardly wave at the camera, and embark on this journey of transformation. Because, who knows? Maybe the journey from camera-shy to video-virtuoso might just be the plot twist my personal brand needs.

Fast forward, and I see new friends doing the same thing. But now,seeing others do it, it feels a bit silly. Imagine if, after many years, you're still showing off those same old company posts, even if you don’t like your place of work anymore, just because you think it might get you more salary at the end of the month.

It's sad to see how many people who hate their jobs years later, keep resharing posts from their company, trying to appeal to that performance assessment for a higher salary.

Like, the kind you study and refine tirelessly.
