Deception And Truth Analysis (D.A.T.A.), Inc

• Designed a library to search through financial data (10-K reports) and generate statistics on key attributes.
• Built a script using natural language processing (NLP) tools such as spaCy to output excel sheet summaries of the statistics for the CEO.
• Using the generated statistics, built machine learning models to predict deception.

• Worked across two universities to create models that detect meal consumption leading each step in the data science pipeline (cleansing, wrangling, visualization,  modeling, interpretation).
• Developed the target variable, meal consumption, and improved baseline roc auc scores of 60% to 89%.
• Became first author on our paper entitled, "Machine Learning-based Meal Detection Using Continuous Glucose Monitoring on Healthy Participants: An Objective Measure of Participant Compliance to Protocol".

Springboard

• Created a deception detection model with SpaCy.
• Scraped a novel deception detection dataset using BeautifulSoup.

I have a masters degree in data science and I teach data science, machine learning, and SQL. My initial projects and interests were in the deception detection space and also in health care, but originally my love of data science blossomed from natural language processing in the translation field.
