AmTrust International is an innovative and niche insurance group of companies across Europe and the London Market forming a subsidiary of AmTrust Financial Services (AFSI, a Fortune 500 company) writing in excess of £2bn of annual gross written premium for the International business (c$8bn globally).

I am acting as Chief Operating Officer for Temple Connect, a new mobile app start-up company, that connects people worldwide with their specific place of worship through a simple mobile interface.

I have developed all business plans from scratch and more recently, oversaw the beta launch of the app. Currently, I am focused on preparations to secure venture capital funding in September 2017.

I supported clients as a programme manager on a range of complex business-critical projects, covering transformational risk, regulatory and people change.

Achievements included being one of the Central Programme Office leaders on the world’s largest compliance implementation programme, FATCA (a $1bn Tax, Business and IT programme) over 2 years for HSBC. I led the 50 staff team across the globe that delivered tailored training to over 280k employees in over 60 countries and in 13 languages. I was recognised for overcoming the significant challenges of delivering the global FACTA programme, including gaining agreement between the global business and 7 business lines in 7 continents, through selection as a Finalist for the Management Consultancy Awards 2015.

I also developed a new Target Operating Model, Internal Audit Standards and Change Plan for HSBC’s Global Internal Audit team, approved by FSA which had initially identified operational failures, with major improvements in quality made over subsequent 2 years – as recognised by HSBC Board of Directors.

I revitalised the LBG Insurance SOX project team, work programme, standards and targets required to implement SOX compliance activities due to the integration between HBOS and Lloyds Bank Group; acknowledged by auditors as the ‘world’s fastest SOX implementation’. In addition, I was personally selected by HSBC’s HR leadership team to lead their Global Financial Crime training programme to help meet regulatory and quality requirements, with training rolled out to 150k worldwide staff within the regulatory deadline.

Another project was to restructure the Internal Advisory Learning & Development team, developing 5 new strategic learning programmes for 3000 EMEA consultants to uncover future leaders and partners.

Finally, I  acted as an Insurance Business Programme Lead for a RBS Global Regulatory Risk Review Programme, with my investigation and report setting the international standards for the programme.

Axa UK

In this role, I was in charge of integrating SOX compliance as a business as usual activity for the UK and Indian Life businesses.

I developed a robust and clear methodology to deliver changes required to embed SOX as business as usual, with the project completed successfully despite budget cuts of 40%. Furthermore, I secured an impressive 50% reduction in audit fees due to the quality and precision of the SOX compliance programme developed, which was delivered on time and in budget over 3 years.

I utilised strong programme management, teamworking and technical skills to significantly re-engineer Finance Day 1 Close Processes and led the Finance Process Change team, achieving praise as the only department to deliver Day 1 Close Processes by the deadline set.

Intel Corporation

I acquired a high level of flexibility and adaptability to change by rotating job roles every 18 months to sharpen skills and knowledge when working for this global company that designs and builds essential technologies for the world’s computing devices. In these roles, I managed a $1.5m budget and worked with over 60 distributors in 48 countries.

Key achievements included reducing fraud by over $1M in 3 months by introducing new audit and control processes to address price protection risks incurred within the distributor channel. Also, I trained over 300 auditors in 48 countries on conducting distributor audits in only 5 months.
 
In addition, I secured an impressive 30% YOY sales growth in Russia and Ukraine through a new review process for the distributor warehouse network, achieved by close collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams and implemented SOX 404 legislation compliance in EMEA under projected cost. This was achieved in deadline and without use of consultants or contractors; an immense achievement that led to an award from executive management.

EMEA Channel Controls Manager/EMEA Finance Controls Manager

EMEA’s Channel / Distribution business has over 60 distributors in over 48 countries with an annual revenue of ~$2bn. I am responsible for ensuring Channel Finance and RCO operate within a robust audit and controls framework and for implementing a SAP module in EMEA. With a various teams based in the UK & Russia, this role involves –
1) Co-ordinating a range of distributor audits, e.g. price protection stock counts (using Deloitte), end of quarter audits and more comprehensive Distributor on-site book audits (using KPMG). 
2) Controlling distributor price protected warehouse expansion.
3) Audit activity at product integrators. 
4) The role also encompasses internal control reviews of all Channel Finance processes and ensuring that all the SOX Controls in Operations Finance are operating effectively and provide appropriate management assurance.
5) EMEA implementation of the worldwide CRIS/CHM system which will be Intel’s Channel business system of record.
