With a degree in Human Development & Psychology from Harvard University, I've spent the last eight years merging the science of learning with cutting edge technologies. Since 2023, I’ve published three industry reports diving into AI in L&D (you can check them out on my profile). I also speak about AI in L&D and the Future of Work at international conferences and internal company events, helping Talent leaders cut through the noise and focus on what matters.

Here are some recent projects that I'm especially proud of:
• Boosting learning effectiveness and data collection in leadership and skill development programmes with intelligent use of AI
• Exploring knowledge management solutions suitable for a complex tech ecosystem in a global enterprise organisation
• Helping L&D leadership of a multinational organisation identify the right AI solutions for their context and turn strategy into execution

This work builds on years of experience designing innovative, tech-enabled learning solutions and products. Before AI took centre stage, I worked on projects like:
• Envisioning the business school of the future with Founders Academy and Framework
• Creating a comprehensive, evidence-based learning design framework for developing soft skills in immersive environments with Bodyswaps
• Leading the development of a blended change management programme for a European bank
• Reimagining the learning strategy and design for Tech Nation’s Digital Business Academy 2.0 (shortlisted for Learning Technologies Awards for excellence in the design of learning content)

The future is noisy, but some bets might outlive the noise.

In its most recent piece, McKinsey identified eight ‘high prevalence’ skills – skills that have stayed relevant across industries and wage levels despite growing specialisation and AI-driven change of roles:

◾️  Management
◾️  Operations
◾️  Problem-solving
◾️  Leadership
◾️  Detail orientation
◾️  Customer relations
◾️  Writing (!)

This list hints at a set of capabilities that continue to matter as the work around them shifts, and the skills that might help anchor how people and organisations navigate the transition.

➡️ These eight don’t move nearly as fast as the job descriptions around them. They’re the long-lived bets – the capabilities that support adaptability both for organisations and individuals. So yes, while L&D absolutely needs to keep an eye on emerging skills and the way tasks are shifting, we can’t lose sight of the capabilities that quietly underpin adaptability. The strategy isn’t either/or. It’s new AI fluencies built on top of a deliberate, long-term investment in these eight enduring skills.

➡️ Communication, leadership, problem-solving - you don’t build these skills just by telling people what ‘good’ looks like. They are largely built on the job: in messy contexts, with meaningful, ongoing feedback and support. Which means development lives in teams, not in the LMS – and it needs real practice, not just content or one-off events. This is where L&D has an opportunity to earn its influence: by shaping the conditions, tools and support that make those on-the-job moments count.

➡️ As AI takes over the more visible, artefact-based work, human contribution shifts towards the relational, contextual, and judgement-heavy. Which makes it that much harder to see who is actually good at the human side of these skills. If we don’t build better ways of seeing them – through behavioural data, peer feedback, manager check-ins – we might undervalue the very capabilities that hold the system together.

In McKinsey’s words, ‘these skills form the connective tissue of the labor market and are key to workforce development. Building them makes workers more
adaptable and better prepared for change.'

Let’s not lose sight of them amid the noise.
