Vinesh is currently part of the Tax Risk Management (TRM) (Group Tax) team at FirstRand Ltd and leads the FNB & WesBank TRM team & the Automatic Exchange of Information AEOI (FATCA/CRS) team. He is responsible for Tax Advisory & Tax Risk Management by ensuring that the Tax implications have been considered & recommendations made for all products and corporate transactions relating to FNB & WesBank. He also works with the FirstRand Social Investing Office which encompasses the FirstRand Foundations and provides Tax advisory and TRM support on their corporate social activities and philanthropic initiatives. Vinesh is responsible for stakeholder management between Group Tax and FNB/WesBank.His previous position has been at the Momentum Group Ltd (now Momentum Metropolitan Holdings Ltd) (previously part of FirstRand Ltd) where he was the Senior Manager-Group Tax with responsibility for Corporate & International Tax; Tax Compliance; Employees Tax & VAT. He has also spent 7 years at the Investec Group Ltd primarily as the Tax Team Lead for Investec Asset Management (now Ninety One) & also time at Investec Group Tax where he had responsibility for the global Asset Management Group as well as some of the property companies in SA. Vinesh specialises in Tax and has completed the MComm (SA & International Tax), the Higher Diploma in Tax Law & the Higher Diploma in International Tax Law amongst other qualifications. His professional associations include being recognised as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) with the South African Institute of Taxation as well as being a registered Tax Practitioner with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
