Bought an AC for replacing a 15 year old one . The outlet very clearly said due to the high demand  installation will take 5 days . No other faster options, so agreed Now starts the fun 
Day 0 : AC delivered ,Message at 8:37 pm arrives with a code if happy with installation share this code ,  ?? err where was the installation ?
Day 1 : regret installation delay for fast resolution click link , link had dealer number & alternate number . Calls to both went unanswered . 
Day 2 “ regret message again same as Day 1 with fast resolution  link , additional number of ASM in addition to 2 dealer numbers , all 3 went unanswered , BRAVO 
Day 3 : eagerly waiting to see next step in process 
As a customer I had accepted a 5 day installation , but process being process is creating a unhappy customer . Which department is not talking to which department & hello ASM phones are for picking up or returning a call
UPDATE Day 3 :didn't disappoint, got a, call can we come to install? Of course said I. Asked for location and then got a call again it's 27 kms away for me, me : err so? Him : someone else nearer will come. So now eagerly waiting to see sms and to day 4. SMS came & this time with BSM Jineshs number who promptly picked the call & hopefully will get installation done tomorrow

Beautifully scripted music video from Mother Dairy, by Ogilvy India. The specific snapshots gain tremendously from exquisite writing and casting. While the inflight ice cream exchange and the next one, the husband helping his office-going wife are lovely, my favorite is the more subtle last episode where the kid emulates his mother's 'hold', combing, and petting himself. Utterly charming!

Thoughtful lyrics by Gulzar, excellent music by Shor Police (Clinton Cerejo & Bianca Gomes), and outstanding singing by Mohan Kanan.

Mother Dairy has been positioning the 'Mother' aspect in its marketing communications frequently and this music video takes that positioning one notch higher, into the zone of 'mother-like'. And this umbrella positioning gives it enough width to place assorted products naturally, without them seeming forced.

I'll tell you who I think is one of the most underrated founders in the world...


He's a tech company founder not based in Silicon Valley... nor in Tel Aviv... not in Bangalore or anywhere in India...

His app has almost a billion monthly active users, and supposedly has a team of not over 30 people running the entire global show, which is estimated to be anywhere around USD 25 Billion in valuation.

Not just that, check out his Instagram page and you'll find half his pictures showing off his six pack abs in some middle eastern location.

I'm talking about Pavel Durov, the Russian origin founder of Telegram, who after trying to find the best country to register his company in, landed in Dubai, UAE.

Supposedly worth over 15 Billion dollars, him and his brother continue to hold majority stake in the company.

He's chosen UAE so as to avoid political pressures of data censoring as applicable in Russia, EU, USA, Singapore and other parts of the world, attempting to make the messenger app truly encrypted and free of political bias.

All of 39 years of age, he is seemingly unmarried, vegetarian, a teetotaler... but still is said to have two children.

That's like a bad boy.

As for monetization of Telegram, I think the company is yet to unlock ads and premium subscriptions for one to many channels at scale, but hopefully, if the acquired users remain active, which they seemingly are, debt repayments from the previous funding rounds should be possible.

Time will tell; but bad boy yet smart guy vibes fo'sho.

Correct use of AC

As hot summer has started and we use ACs regularly, let's follow the correct method.

Most people have a habit of running their ACs at 20-22 degrees and when they feel cold, they cover their bodies with blankets. This leads to double loss. HOW ???

The temperature of our body is 36 degrees Celsius. The body can tolerate temperature ranging from 23-39 degrees easily. It is called human body temperature tolerance.

When the room temperature is lower or higher, the body reacts, by sneezing, shivering, etc.

When you run the AC at 19-20-21 degrees, room temperature is much lower than the normal body temperature and it starts the process called hypothermia in the body which affects blood circulation, whereby, blood supply in some parts of the body is not adequate. There are many disadvantages in long term such as arthritis etc.

Most of the time there is no sweating when AC is ON, so the toxins of the body cannot come out and in the long term such absence of global warming affects health. How ???

When you run AC at such low temperatures, it's compressor continuously works on full energy, even if it is 5 stars, excessive power is consumed & it blows more from your pocket.

What is the best way to run AC ?? Set up Temperatures for 26 Degrees or More.

You don't get any benefit by first setting Temperatures of AC to 20 - 21 and then wrapping the sheet/blanket around you.

It is always better to run AC at 26+ degrees and put the fan on a slow speed.
This will cause less electricity and help reduce the effects of global warming. How ???

Suppose you save about 5 Units per AC Night by running AC on 26+ Degrees and Other 10 Lakhs Households also do the same, then the collective saving is 5 Million units of electricity.  At regional level this saving can be in crores.

Please consider this and do not run AC at all below 26 degrees. Keep your body and environment healthy.

Have you ever taken the 16 Personalities test? I’ve taken it three times. Why three times?

Because I didn’t love my results. I thought if I kept taking the test I would get a different result. Talk about trying to fit a square peg into a round hole 🙈 - there’s no faking who I am. 

BUT >>>> I have now accepted that along with every weakness I have, there is a strength I need to LEVERAGE.

💭My takeaways and outlook:

- accept who you are and don’t try to become someone you’re not
- work in jobs that allow your strengths to shine (while also being cognizant of weaknesses)
- a great team welcomes all personality types and thrives on diverse skillsets, it’s okay not to be the team’s data scientist 👩🏻‍💻… someone else has it as a strength and actually wants to do that work 👏🏻

This is a good book with a good set  of data points from Nielsen,GfK and Ipsos..

My key learnings:

1. India is changing quickly, most marketeers are reactive.  A third of senior managers cannot connect data points.
2. Indians like technology progress but are unsure or ambiguous about it.
3. Gen Z and Gen Aplha love Technology and convenience.
4. Most age groups are finding it difficult to make friends after COVID.
5. Premium segment in every category is growing,especially the durables segment.
6. Premium housing is also gaining traction in the top 8 cities.
7. SUVs are driving the growth of the Indian Personal vehicles market.
8. The fundamental equation between Doctors and patients is changing.
9. Consumers worry about AI and its impact on fake news and misinformation.
10.Gen Z loves fashion but want it affordable.

Surprising fact - less than 50 pc of marketeers are using the top 8 technology tools!!

The book also has Op eds from a few CEOs and CMOs. I was a little disappointed with the quality of these Op eds, most lacked insight.
