It’s hard to believe that it’s been 5 years since my father passed away. I still struggle to comprehend that reality.

He shaped the course of our family’s future in ways that I will always be grateful for. Among his siblings, he was the only one who pursued higher education. With a special drive and determination, he left his village in India in the 1960s to chase knowledge, eventually earning a PhD in Physics from BITS Pilani. He had even been accepted to MIT, but my grandfather placed one condition on him—that he marry before leaving. He chose a different path, but never gave up on his dreams.

In the late 1970s, he worked with ISRO before finding his way to the United States. Like so many immigrants, he arrived with just $8 in his pocket, but with immense hope for a better life. What he did have in abundance was love: my mom, my sister, and me by his side.

His courage, sacrifices, and vision are the foundation on which our family stands today.

I miss you, Dad.

Last week was a whirlwind of travel across both coasts — and a truly memorable one.

I had a wonderful lunch with Lynn Martin NYSE  and some meaningful conversations about leadership and the evolving landscape of innovation.

It was an honor to visit the NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE , walk the historic trading floor, and experience firsthand the energy that continues to drive global markets. The sense of history and innovation under one roof never fails to inspire.

A heartfelt thank you to Bonnie Hyun , Brian J. Baumann , and Sandesh Mouli  for everything you do to make these moments possible.

While I didn’t get the chance to meet Anderson Cooper CNN  this time, the NYSE visit was a powerful reminder of the legacy — and the bright future — of American enterprise.
