- Organized engineering projects roadmap, established an ingress process for incoming requests. Communicated connection of the company goals with team work at the QBRs and engineering all-hands meetings. Worked with the engineering leadership team to develop engineering org metrics. Coordinated release timelines for a number of major releases before delivery team was built.
- Improved communication across 3 development sites (Poland, Japan, USA) and help assigning a clear long-term team ownership. Facilitated engineering management and leadership groups conversations. Helped de-risking merger and integration with an acquired contractor team.
- Set up a recruiting process, starting with sourcing all the way to onboarding and following performance evaluation and engagement. Coached tech leads and managers in interpersonal skills, communication, agile practices, closing knowledge gaps, and driving changes.
- Lead a cross-team dev productivity group that implemented 15+ improvements, including the biggest challenge—time to analyze automation test failures—reduced from 6-8h to 30min daily.

Director of Engineering

Domino Data Lab

- Managed engineering and product aspects of identity management and access control transition to the industry-standard component to simplify integration with different customers' infrastructures.
- Started the developer productivity activity and monolith decomposition (libraries extraction).
- Added test coverage metrics and indicators for the git main branch stability.
- Implemented support for Kubernetes and did major updates of ElasticSearch and MongoDB.

Engineering Manager

Driver

Was leading teams building the Core of the platform providing access to over 3000 cancer clinical trials worldwide based on patient’s medical history and genetic data.

- Led migration and decomposition of the data collection and treatment matching pipeline from the legacy infrastructure, did a lot of hands-on work for that.
- Collaborated with the Product team to accelerate patient data extraction 5x, clinical trials ingress 20x.
- Supported Consumer and Partner departments for expansion to the China market.

CTO of Core Software

- Designed architecture and led a team to build the Consumer product.
- Worked with the team to advance our stance on type-safety and modularization.
- Built a HIPAA, CLIA/CAP-compliant tool to generate and review molecular reports for cancer.
- Built a microservice library open-sourced​ by the team at https://github.com/driver-oss.

Tinkoff Bank

Tinkoff Bank is the​ ​world’s largest fully online bank by customer base​ and​ ​the second largest provider of credit cards in Russia​. I managed development of consumer applications helping the bank to become a leading player in consumer banking and eventually​ t​he best consumer digital bank in the world (Global Finance, World’s Best Digital Bank Awards, 2018).

Reporting to the Bank CIO, I have built teams developing web and mobile apps for consumer banking and related products with ~80 total engineers, including local employees and remote contractors. Teams had a uniform development process and metrics. With these teams I was driving development of the,
 - Mobile Bank app​ (#1 in Russia by Deloitte and local rating agencies)
 - Traffic Fines Payment app​ (over 1M users in the 1st year, most popular app of this type)
 - Tinkoff Mobile Wallet​ (​P2P payment app similar to Venmo and Zelle)
 - New versions of the Online bank (numerous awards in local ratings)

As part of this undertaking, I promoted Tinkoff as a employer brand (with​ an ​engineering blog​, first Scala meetups in Moscow, and competitions for developers) and reviewed architecture for a dozen of large-scale engineering projects.

Vice Head of Software Engineering (Consumer Product)

- From scratch, built the team, organized the dev process and configured all the tools later used by hundreds of employees for dozens of other projects
- Led development of the bank’s website with unique 100%-online customer acquisition flow
- Led development of the “The Best Consumer Internet Bank in Russia” in (Global Finance​ and​ ​banki.ru) 2x faster and with 4x smaller team than our main competitor
- Advanced my vision for all the banking functions available via an API, and all the bank apps built on top of it, P2P payments via social networks, and personal finance management

Head Of Web Development

- Led a team to scale the payments processing system (Java, Oracle, Memcached), optimize performance and improve code quality
- Built a monitoring System for 50K kiosks, including dashboard for kiosk owners

Tech Lead

- Worked on scaling and optimizing performance of the payments processing system
 - Significantly improved quality of the most legacy parts of the system
 - Built a full-stack real-time monitoring capability for the payments processing system
 - Implemented a distributed search functionality for the customers' payments
 - Automated workflow for contract approval to comply with the Russian 103-FZ regulation.
 - Designed new communication protocol for client devices and have built an SDK for the client development.
