It brought back the feeling of each climb where your lungs set the pace. You notice how air can carry you forward or slow you down. That moment turned a metric into a feeling, clean air is not abstract, it changes what you can do.

That is why I obsess over data that lets people trust their air. We build systems that help communities trust their air, not only sensors but also dashboards. Clean air lets people push harder, recover faster, and live healthier.

As COO, I spend my time in the details, supply chains, deployments, operations. The reason stays simple, protect the basic rhythm of life, the breath.

Grateful to be working on something invisible yet essential, and motivated to keep raising the bar for accurate, reliable monitoring.

By 2030, the skills that matter won’t be the ones listed on a résumé they’ll be the ones tested in real life.

Looking back at my own journey of building Oizom, I’ve realised something:
Every few years, the “core skills” that carried me forward stopped being enough.

In 2015, it was about technical depth.
In 2020, it was about scaling operations.
In 2025, it’s about navigating global complexity.

And if I project ahead to 2030, here are the skills I believe will matter most:

1. Thinking & Learning

(How we process change and knowledge)

Unlearning as a Muscle → Questioning old assumptions, dropping outdated playbooks, avoiding “we’ve always done it this way.”
Meta-Learning → Building the habit of learning how to learn faster.
Curiosity-Driven Exploration → Asking better questions instead of rushing for answers.
Context Awareness → Reading the environment (social, cultural, regulatory) before making decisions.

2. Leadership & People

(How we lead, inspire, and build teams)

Adaptive Leadership → Leading without all the answers, balancing conviction with humility.
Empathetic Communication → Listening deeply, not just speaking clearly.
Delegation & Trust → Stepping back so teams can step up.
Conflict Navigation → Handling tough conversations without breaking trust.

3. Global & Strategic Execution

(How we scale and operate across borders)

Global-Local Balance → Respecting cultural differences while scaling globally.
Compliance Literacy → Navigating certifications, data laws, and sustainability frameworks.
Operational Flexibility → Designing processes that adapt to different markets.
Cross-Border Collaboration → Working seamlessly with diverse teams, partners, and regulators.

4. Tech & Resilience

By 2030, the winners won’t be the ones who mastered one skill.

What Expanding in 80+ Countries Taught Me?

"We had the 1st prototype of Pollusense back in early 2023, but we launched it in 2024."

The hardest part of scaling is what we have to unlearn.

When we were building Oizom in the early days, I thought every launch had to be perfect.
We delayed releases, polished every detail, and tried to predict every customer question in advance.

But those “perfect launches” slowed us down.
Markets don’t reward perfection; they reward progress.
We only started moving faster when we learned to launch, learn, and iterate, not polish forever.

The same thing happened with ownership.
As founders, we feel the need to own everything, every call, every decision, every last detail.
I believed “over-ownership” meant commitment. In reality, it slowed our teams.
They couldn’t move unless I moved.

Unlearning that mindset was tough.
But once I stepped back and trusted the system, the team moved faster, smarter, and often in ways I hadn’t imagined.

Lesson I learned:
Growth wasn’t just about new skills or bigger markets.
It was about unlearning habits that held us back.
Letting go became the real unlock.

Unlearning to Grow

Looks futuristic. Works in the rain. Survives dust storms.
That’s the kind of design challenge I’ve lived with at Oizom.

Now, I’m looking for someone who enjoys that balance as much as I do.
Because outdoor design isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about airflow, ergonomics, zero dust ingress, weather resistance, and still making it look sleek.

That’s the reaction I remember from city officials and builders whenever dust monitoring at construction sites came up a few years ago.

Having lived in Pune, I’ve felt the difference first-hand, dust so heavy on some mornings you could taste it before stepping out. That’s why Pune Municipal Corporation’s recent move feels like a turning point.

Real-time dust monitoring at construction sites, with data made public, isn’t just policy, it’s a cultural shift. And Mumbai’s BMC has already taken the lead by mandating the same. Together, these cities are setting the benchmark for how urban India will tackle construction-related air pollution.

Here’s why it matters:
 1. From reactive to proactive: Cities can prevent problems before complaints arrive.
 2. From paperwork to dashboards: Citizens can see pollution data in real-time.
 3. From compliance cost to competitive edge: Builders who follow norms are finally rewarded.

The moment workers see their site’s dust levels on a live screen, habits change. Stockpiles get covered, water is sprayed, activity timings shift. Not because of notices but because the data is visible.

This transparency builds trust citizens feel protected, builders gain credibility, and conflicts reduce. It’s more than Pune or Mumbai; it’s the future of how Indian cities will build with technology, transparency, and accountability at the core.

Meet Our Speaker: Mr. Hiren Chaudhari
We are honored to welcome Mr. Hiren Chaudhari as the guest speaker for IAQN’s World Ozone Day 2025 webinar on the theme “From Science to Global Action.”

Mr. Chaudhari brings over 8 years of hands-on experience in environmental monitoring, wetland ecology, hydro-geochemistry, and biodiversity conservation. He currently serves as the Information Officer at the Regional CERC-EIACP Centre under the MoEF&CC, Government of India.

An academic and a field expert, he holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Environmental Science from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, is a two-time UGC-NET qualifier, and is pursuing his Ph.D. at CVM University.

His work spans ecological monitoring of Gujarat’s key wetlands, contributions to the ICZMP, and collaborations with Recycling Hub (GPCB Authorized), GCPC, and GEER FOUNDATION INC. He has presented at national and international platforms and published in reputed journals.

Passionate about environmental outreach, Mr. Chaudhari continues to advocate for sustainability through education, campaigns, and community engagement.

“But how will this hold up during sandstorms?" They quietly asked.

I still remember one partner meeting where I proudly explained our calibration system before they asked this.
In that moment, I realised: global deployment isn’t about exporting what you already know. It’s about unlearning and adapting, over and over.

When we started expanding Oizom beyond India, I thought the hardest part would be building devices that worked everywhere.
Turns out, the bigger challenge was making them fit everywhere.

- In Europe, compliance was the first question.
- In the Middle East, it was about ruggedness in extreme heat.
- In Asia, it was about affordability without losing accuracy.

The device was the same, but the context changed completely.

Global isn’t about conquering markets. It’s about respecting them.
Every rollout forces you to shed assumptions, listen harder, and rebuild processes that can bend without breaking.

That’s how you scale across 80+ countries, not by being rigidly “global,” but by being relentlessly local.

How Is It Expaning in 80+ Countries 

I just finished a piece by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Twin Transformation, and it changed how I look at progress in manufacturing.

The idea felt simple at first: digital and sustainability aren’t two separate goals anymore. But the more I thought about it, the more I realised they’re two sides of the same transformation.

- Digital transformation isn’t just about automation or adding sensors. It’s about making systems think so every decision becomes faster, smarter, and more transparent.
- Sustainability transformation isn’t just about cutting carbon or meeting compliance. It’s about designing processes that naturally use fewer resources, create less waste, and last longer.

When both move together, the impact compounds.
AI-driven production lines save energy while improving efficiency.
Real-time emission data helps teams act faster and stay compliant.
Digital twins test greener alternatives before they’re even built.

But here’s what stood out most for me: small, isolated pilots can’t get us there. Real change happens only when technology and sustainability are built into the system, across suppliers, operations, and logistics.

When a company installs our monitoring systems, it’s not just about getting data on a dashboard. It’s about catching inefficiencies early, ensuring compliance, and protecting people and the planet around them. That’s what real transformation looks like.

The article also spoke about a third dimension Resilience.
In today’s world of supply chain shocks and climate uncertainty, resilience isn’t a buzzword anymore; it’s the foundation that holds digital and green progress together.

So maybe the real question isn’t “Should we go digital or go green?”
 It’s “Are we redesigning our systems so both work hand in hand and stand strong against tomorrow’s challenges?”
