Next Step Development Corporation

Next Step Development Corporation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing homelessness or unhoused by creating tiny house villages, affordable housing units and emergency shelter. 

As the Founder, I am focused on developing the strategy for supportive housing communities, securing funding, advocating with government entities and community leaders.

Chief Executive Officer

Grainger

Led a team of Consultants focused on the development of operational cost savings programs to drive efficiency, increase productivity and create sustainable business practices throughout large organizations utilizing Lean and Change Management principles. We collaborated with Sales, Technology and Supply Chain organizations within Grainger to provide insight on emerging trends and potential business services or solutions.

Senior Manager, Consulting Services (Retired)

Perform indirect materials management consulting for hospitals interested in strategic solutions related to indirect materials such as process improvement, system integration and inventory management strategies. Provide a total cost summary and make recommendations for improving the hospitals bottom-line.

Consulting Manager

Created sales strategies for new products and services designed to grow Grainger market share. Identified competitive landscape, recommended programs and product improvements. Consulted with sales leaders to strategize and close complex customer opportunities that would create maximum sales opportunities.

Program Launch Manager

Recruited to help revitalize sales organization and restructure sales process to a consultative approach. Assumed responsibility for under-performing district of 15 Account Managers in eastern North Carolina. Consistently produced millions in profitable revenue growth year over year, running as high as 20% over prior year.

District Sales Manager

In this second half of my life, I am spending my time on my passions: ending homelessness, addressing mental health issues and developing young people. My years as a consulting and sales leader have prepared me for this time. I founded Next Step Development Corporation in 2021 to build tiny houses for the homeless and provide them with supportive services. This is hard work but as we have always heard, "If was easy, everyone would do it!"
