At WHO, I am resposible for implementing and supporting communications activities at the country level. Delivering accurate and timely production and dissemination of high quality public information products which highlight WHO and partners work on the ground; promoting achievements and results of key public health initiatives and building contacts with the press/media and key partners and optimizing networking opportunities. Also ensuring WHO’s work and health issues gain visibility among partners, the general public, the media and other key stakeholders.

Communications Officer

East-West Seed

Roles and Responsibilities: 
• Develop and implement communications strategies & work-plans, campaigns, events and other initiatives in support of advancing gender equality – ensuring alignment with East West Seed’s vision and mission. 
• Plan specific, timely campaigns across all platforms in line with current events and trends. 
• Design creative content, posts and campaigns along with a regular publishing schedule on SM platforms. 
• Respond to posts or comments to bring value to user’s interactions with East West Seed. 
• Review data on the performance of social media platforms and adjusts plans or strategies to optimize reach. • Generate analytics on SM engagement and demonstrate this through results. • Research articles, stories, resources, or other content relevant to East West Seed and its mission for sharing via social media in a manner that invites conversation and interaction. 
• Work collaboratively with the Project team to identify, stories and messages that are engaging and high quality, and which communicate impact of the work being done as well as advocacy messages on key themes. 
• Write, edit, and distribute high quality media and multimedia content, including written content, publications, press releases, website content, case studies, infographics and other communication material that communicates the organization's activities, products and/or services. 
• Research, prepare, fact-check, edit, and produce professional media and communications materials for various audiences and ensure their timely dissemination and amplification via East West Seed communications channels. 
• Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand, by delivering “powerful” and relevant multimedia content about the work of East West Seed 
• Contribute to identifying new and creative ways to enhance the visibility reputation, and positioning of East West Seed.

While here, I was responsible for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of the UMVA Project,
as well as for Bayimba Foundation's communications in the areas of digital media, content production,
marketing, advocacy, and communication.

Project Coordinator

Key tasks include:
•	Organize project visibility events especially project launches for key activities
.       Provide administrative support to GIZ 
•	Document articles for publication in online journals and local/regional newspapers.
•	Work with the team in their activities to implement any communication and visibility activities e.g. pictures, videos, capturing stories, etc. 
•	Formulate and implement GIZ/project communication and visibility strategy
•	Systematic planning and management of visibility activities.
•	Coordinate and implement communication work (including supporting components to identify and budget for  visibility communication activities
•	 Work on Oversees relevant media/awareness events
•	Provide editorial input on practical examples and other texts for GIZ media. This includes sourcing and documenting case studies of best practices, for in house and external use.
•	Compile information materials for the media and distribute these systematically in line with the target group’s needs
•	Develop and support appropriate project communication instruments (e.g., emails, the programme internal newsletters)
•	Develop content for online social media
•	Provide editorial and administrative support to the programme website and social media sites.
•	Creation and assurance of a quality pool of service providers (text, printers, graphic designers, proof readers, lithography etc.)
•	Coordination and implementation of communication work (including supporting components to identify and budget for communication activities
•	Work together with the project manager and Business development officer to develop written, audio visual content system for the project.
•	Work together with other GIZ commissions on communication & programmatic matters pertaining commission activities and upcoming projects.
•	Advise staff on the regulations and contacts for communication visibility in the interests of a uniform GIZ image.

Communications,Media & Visibility Officer  for PMG Activities

National Environment Management Authority

Key Roles and Responsibilities
•	Contribute towards NEMA’S designing of its first Environmental Quarterly Information Network News Bulletin (EIN) and coming up with template designs.
•	Support developing and implementing multimedia environment awareness strategies and activities at national, local governments and community levels; these include community Barrazas, cleanup campaigns, university campaigns, multi-stakeholder campaigns etc.
•	Reviewing and updating NEMA website and other social media pages,
•	Document audio-visual formats and written documents for NEMA.
•	Participate in planning and organizing of Environmental Journalism conference event for education purposes.
•	Coordinate different media houses and journalists to come for Event pressers FOR visibility motives for articles and stories running in main stream media and online.
•	Compile and write daily environmental press reviews for NEMA.
•	Improve on record keeping/ documenting for the communications department
•	Updated and handle social media for NEMA such as twitter,  and facebook
•	Shoot, edit short videos for online posting on World Water Day for NEMA
•	Take lead in editing environmental education and  awareness including newsletters , posters, fact sheets, flyers, banners, television and radio messages;
•	Give technical support on PR and communication provided
•	Drafting and submitting responses to public enquiries
•	Coordinate media interview requests and organize press conferences.

Support Information and Communications Officer

Kwesé

Kwesé is a multi-platform entertainment solution with a diverse content portfolio including sports, movies, music, reality, drama, comedy, series, documentaries, kids, lifestyle, faith and news.

Viewers can watch programming on via satellite and internet-based platforms (i.e. using the Kwesé app for online streaming off a personal computer or mobile device).

Media Practitioner / Journalist

While here, I interviewed experts’ sources and searched public records for information in line with
company policies.
• Participated in research for the KWESE production team and identified channel needs on
topics using a variety of sources, including video archives, internet, library archives and
others needed as per the daily broadcast shows. This helped Kwese introduce new television
shows with topics relating to people such as “Your Fan”, The Brief show, The Workout among
others which got applauded by the production manager.
• Provided backup support in all components of production, including control room, studios,
sound, lighting, camera, and editing and post production. This helped improve the
• Efficiencies of television programing and enabled other teams attend to major issues.
• Developed graphical data, created still and animated graphics for broadcast during the
opening show for the first world cup trophy while brought for viewership in Uganda for a
recap on Kwese Free Sports. This created awareness to audiences understand number of
countries participated in the trophy as well as other historical information in the line of sports
attached to world cup.

• Edited television show programs, news stories under given topics for in-house production
and broadcast for news and sports bulletins. This brought sponsors on board with adverts
such as Riham, Pepsi and Marcos Gym Naalya.
• Conducted interviews and covered news worthy events as well as story reporting,
• Produced and edited video content that adhered to organization’s guidelines as Directed
by the production manager. These were used via sports updates and sports updates as well
as keeping the programing of Kwese alive via DTH and FTA.
