Harrogate BID

The Harrogate BID is a business-led organisation, based in the Harrogate town cente, working for the benefit of businesses in the BID area.

A BID is not a substitute for central or local government investment, but an additional investment to strengthen the local economy and give local businesses a unified voice, helping to provide an arena for businesses and local authorities to increase their understanding of each other’s priorities.
Ultimately, the aim is to maximise a destination and empower local businesses to tackle local issues. Money is raised locally, invested locally, and managed locally. It is a powerful voice for local business to shape our town.

Working for our levy payers, and key partners we work to ensure our town centre excels as a place for business, to shop, visit and enjoy. In order to do this we are focused on 5 key project areas:
• Marketing, promotions and events
• Access and car parking
• Safe, clean and welcoming
• Business plus
• Evening and night-time economy

About LHVA

Leeds Hotels & Venues Assocation (LHVA) is a membership driven, not-for-profit organisation that acts as the collective voice of the hospitality industry in Leeds. LHVA provides a one-stop-shop for Corporates and Associations looking to book conferences in Leeds and hotels in Leeds.
What do we do?

The Association carries out a programme of activity throughout the membership year which is based on the needs and issues of concern relating to our members. LHVA supports and co-ordinates hotel and catering industry led initiatives within the Leeds City Region and actively works with partners, including Conference Leeds and The Leeds BID, to promote Leeds as a destination for business and leisure tourism.

The Association has an established network of partners, both regionally and nationally, that allows the membership to be informed and kept up to date with changes and trends in the industry.

LHVA also supports hotel industry and local charitable organisations.

The LeedsBID Board is a collection of the city’s leaders and influencers from across the key business sectors of the city.

The Leeds Business Improvement District is one of the most exciting initiatives developed by the city’s business community in recent years.

Representing 986 businesses and organisations, LeedsBID is focused on delivering an ambitious business plan to transform Leeds city centre – improving experiences, standards and adding value for all city users.

Leading on innovative projects and providing key investment, it aims to make Leeds city centre a cleaner, safer and more welcoming place, raising its profile nationally and internationally with new, diverse and prestigious events and exciting marketing campaigns.

Established on April 1st 2015, LeedsBID was voted for by city’s businesses and endorsed by the public sector. It was the 200th BID in the UK and is the largest outside of London.

Businesses within the BID area with a rateable value of £60,000 or above are required to make an annual contribution (a levy) of 1.25%, resulting in £2.4m investment per year into the city centre – more than £12m over the BID’s initial five-year term.
