Most businesses neglect content marketing:

- Jump to copywriting with unclear messaging
- Worry about hacks but forget content pillars
- Don't use research to find content ideas
- Copy their competitors' formats

They skip 90% of the process.

The truth is that they don't truly believe in content. They see it as a bunch of texts and images that can be created by anyone.

This belief leads to irrational behaviors:

- "We don't have time for interviews, use AI"
- "Make this post viral, we need a big buzz"
- "How many leads from Tuesday's video?"

They neglect the process, but expect fast ROI.

And the results are obviously bad:

- For the Business → becomes a commodity
- For the Team → lack of direction on what to do
- For the Audience → don't understand the messages

It always ends like this:

Founder: "We've tried content, it doesn't work for us"

Me: "You've not tried properly on 3 layers"

1. Content Strategy Layer

Always start from your audience problems and motivations. You need to understand WHY and HOW they buy to produce the right content. Study their buying journey to understand WHAT they need to see, to buy.

2. Content Plan Layer

Once you know your audience, you can start planning content. Choose the ideas, channels, formats, and content types that you need to produce. Don't think "what should we create?", think "what do they need to see?". 

3. Content Creation Layer

You need the combination of strategy and SKILLS to create good content. Find good copywriters, designers, and video editors. Respect their work and don't ask "can you make the logo bigger?" or "can you write 'elevate your brand'?".

"Europe is less hard-working, less ambitious, more regulated, and more risk-averse than the US" - Nicolai Tangen

He later added a cherry on top:

"In America, you have a lot of AI and no regulation, in Europe you have no AI and a lot of regulation. It’s interesting".

Interesting is the softest word Tangen could have used here. I'd argue it's at least disappointing. 

The worst part? 

As long as Europe keeps celebrating regulation while the rest of the world is innovating, the only path ahead is the path to irrelevance.

Technologically, economically, and politically.

The ranking is quite surprising, and fun to read!

Key Findings (from ElectronicsHub report)

- The Philippines has the highest monthly search volume for AI tools overall: mostly for text AI.

- ChatGPT is the most-searched GenAI tool in most countries (65), including the U.S. (not surprised by this)

- Quillbot is the most-searched tool in the second-most countries (61) but has the highest search volume overall (12 m global searches per month).

12 billion working days are lost every year due to burnout:

At a cost of US$1 trillion per year in lost productivity. 

But there are many things we can do:

To improve these figures and minimize burnout. 

Let’s, first, understand what burnout is: 

Exhaustion from prolonged stress or overwork, leading to reduced effectiveness, motivation, and even depression. 

Early signs of burnout may include:

1. Persistent fatigue or lack of energy, despite adequate rest.

2. Increased cynicism or negativity towards work-related tasks.

3. Difficulty concentrating or staying focused on tasks.

4. Reduced productivity or effectiveness in completing tasks.

5. Feelings of irritability or frustration, even over minor issues.

6. Physical symptoms such as headaches, muscle tension, or stomach problems.

7. Withdrawal from social activities or decreased interest in hobbies.

8. Changes in sleep patterns, such as insomnia or oversleeping.

9. Increased reliance on unhealthy coping mechanisms, such as alcohol or drugs.

10. Feeling emotionally drained or overwhelmed by work responsibilities.

Have you felt any of those? 

If yes, then you should take action before it becomes too late. 

There are some great tips to get back in shape:

A) Prioritize self-care: Including mental breaks, mindfulness, deep breathing exercises, and meditation.

B) Set boundaries: Separate work and personal life to prevent burnout.

C) Build a support system: Surround yourself with encouraging and empathetic individuals.

D) Delegate tasks: Share responsibilities to lighten your workload.

E) Stay active: Exercise regularly to reduce stress and improve mood.

F) Relax: Practice deep breathing, meditation, or other relaxation techniques.

G) Enjoy hobbies: Engage in activities you love outside of work.

H) Manage time wisely: Prioritize tasks and avoid overcommitting.

I) Cultivate positivity: Focus on gratitude and self-compassion to enhance resilience.

Remember, you have one life and one health. 
Do not carry more weight than you can handle.

We need more empathy. Climate change, war, polarization, inequality, extinction of species, political turmoil—they largely boil down to one crisis: an empathy crisis.

This is argued by Ex-CEO of Unilever, Paul Polman, in his talk at the Changemakers Spring Event. As he explains, for most of the world’s crises, the solutions are known. Yet, it is the general lack of empathy that causes us not to resolve them. 

I find it hard to disagree. It is our ability and willingness to take the other’s perspective, that of other people, animals, and nature at play here. 

This applies to me as well. Too often I have decided for myself that something “is not my problem.” Which simply says: I look away because I find my personal problems and “problems” more important. Nothing to be proud of, but I am sure you recognize this. 

What is empathy? It is “the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another” (Merriam-Webster). 

How to activate empathy? I optimistically believe that the capacity for empathy is in virtually all of us. So, the capacity is not the problem. It is the activation of empathy that doesn’t happen. 

According to the Empathy Training Project, empathy consists of five elements: Observe, Tune-In, Relate, Connect, Reach Out. They mean the following:

OBSERVE: Become aware of emotional states in others by paying attention to communication clues.

TUNE-IN: Actively listen to others in an effort to understand their experience.

RELATE: Try to find parallels in your own life experience that will help you identify with someone’s perspective. 

CONNECT: Share in someone’s feelings by walking in their shoes.

REACH OUT: Respond appropriately to a person through acts of compassion. 

While these five elements, and also definitions of empathy, are often focused on people, I think we can easily extend it to any other living entity. Because also in relation to animals and nature we can observe, tune-in, relate, connect and reach out. 

So, here’s one thing to do in the coming week: show more empathy. And then continue to do so every day thereafter. I will do the same.

Reportedly Elon Musk sent an email to the staff at Tesla with his 6 rules for productivity. Unsurprisingly, it leaked.

Here they are:
1) Avoid large meetings
Large meetings waste valuable time and energy.
- They discourage debate
- People are more guarded than open
- There’s not enough time for everyone to contribute
Don’t schedule large meetings unless you’re certain they provide value to everyone.

2) Leave a meeting if you’re not contributing
If a meeting doesn’t require your:
- Input
- Value
- Decisions
Your presence is useless.
It’s not rude to leave a meeting.
But it’s rude to waste people’s time.

3) Forget the chain of command
Communicate with colleagues directly.
Not through supervisors or managers.
Fast communicators make fast decisions.
Fast decisions = competitive advantage.

4) Be clear, not clever
Avoid nonsense words and technical jargon.
It slows down communication.
Choose words that are:
- Concise
- To the point
- Easy to understand
Don’t sound smart. Be efficient.

5) Ditch frequent meetings
There’s no better way to waste everyone’s time.
Use meetings to:
- Collaborate
- Attack issues head-on
- Solve urgent problems
But once you resolve the issue, frequent meetings are no longer necessary.
You can resolve most issues without a meeting.
Instead of meetings:
- Send a text
- Send an email
- Communicate on a discord or slack channel
Don’t interrupt your team’s workflow if it’s unnecessary.

6) Use common sense
If a company rule doesn’t:
- Make sense
- Contribute to progress
- Apply to your specific situation
Avoid following the rule with your eyes closed.

This is huge! ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood is super bullish on Tesla 👇😳

"We believe that the entire opportunity is going to generate revenues of $8 to $10 trillion in 2030. Half of which will go to platforms like Tesla".

She then added:

"Tesla is the biggest artificial intelligence project in the world we believe as it moves to this goal of autonomous taxi networks" - Cathie Wood

Sure, Wood is biased as she owns nearly $900M of Tesla stock. But that doesn't mean she's wrong.

Just think about it:

- Tesla has a vast dataset of real-world driving scenarios putting it in a top position to develop fully autonomous vehicles.

- The EV maker led by Elon Musk is also developing its own AI supercomputer called Dojo, which is specifically designed to train LLMs for autonomous driving efforts.

- Then there's Tesla's humanoid robot Optimus, which due to its general-purpose nature, could expand Tesla's addressable market by at least 10X.

Of course, execution is key here.

But if Elon delivers, Tesla can indeed become the biggest AI company in the world.

Huge.

B2B companies with a long sales cycle MUST stop measuring marketing the B2C way.

Here is why.

The B2B buying process is not linear.

B2B buyers use a lot of different channels (lots of them are untraceable like "asking a vendor recommendation in the community") for research and evaluation.

Often, the first touch that attracts their attention is your content (social, community, recommendations).

After the first touch, you'll need to have much more touches to generate demand that could have happened across multiple channels and platforms.

While in B2C you can capture the existing demand and figure out the channels with the highest ROI.

If measure marketing like B2C companies do, you're likely to prioritize last touch attribution (rarely, on the first) and make wrong decisions about what works and what doesn't.

Example.

Google Analytics shows that our last inbound opportunity came from a search.

The truth is that one of the buying committee members was engaging with me and Vladimir on LinkedIn, and when wanted to book a call, just searched for our brand name.

B2C decision: invest more in search.

To make the right attribution, you need a hybrid version:

- Self-attribution (How did you hear about us?) 
- Channels that were identified in the digital analytics 
- Customer interview (asking customers how they identified us, what channels they used, etc).

To measure B2B marketing you need 2 reports:

1). Program measurement.

Different programs have different goals and have their own set of metrics.

Brand awareness: # of brand mentions, # of engaged accounts
Demand generation: inbound opportunities, accounts sourced to ABM, etc. 

2) Revenue report.

This report shows sales pipeline velocity, revenue from different motions and marketing-sourced revenue (in case you are battling for this in your organization).

Don't try to hack the B2B buying process and make it B2C-ish.

B2B marketing works only when you focus on the full funnel in the channels your buyers use to:

- Get professional information
- Research products and vendors
- Get recommendations or advice

Develop a hybrid self-attribution, individual programs reports and a revenue report to make the right decisions about what works and what doesn't.

I have created some 4000+ AI artworks, just for fun, in 2024 and spent 3000+ hours the last two years biohacking and creating 19 protocols for longevity, covering most of the scientific fields in that space. 

I'm now looking to the next chapter and would like to pick up a job, so if someone has something in Inside Sales, International, tech, AI, consultancy, or something along those lines, let me know. I'm currently based in Stockholm, Sweden, and I prefer to work from home. I'm very knowledgeable in the tech, marketing, market intel, and data quality domains. Most importantly, I have a growth mindset, learn fast, and act even faster.

The notion that "AI art is bad and will destroy real art" does not go down well with me. I can do art like this. I do it just for fun. I've done some 4000 pieces in 2024, and it's a fantastic tool and enabler for anyone who wants to be their own artist. It adds understanding and value about art. It does not destroy other arts. It requires one to develop the words and prompts to achieve this in cooperation with AI.
