(Sr / Lead) Game Designer

Myria

After relocating to Vietnam, I had the opportunity to work remotely and dip my toe in the Web 3 industry. During this experience, I worked on 2 projects, the main project was Metarush, a mix of Fall Guys, Super Smash Bross, and Mario Kart, developed on Unity and using Quantum technology for Multiplayer. The second project was put on hold after 1 month and was a Car Fighting game. 

💡 Game and Level Design:
• Create and implement a dozen levels focusing on Close fights, Competition, and finals. 
• Design new Multiplayer Game mechanics: Match-up system based on points, Leaderboard, Friend System.
• Tweak – Balance game metrics, power-ups, and levels to create the most joyful and understandable game experience possible.

🖌️ UX and UI Design: 
• Design the Inventory system and supervised its implementation.
• Design the Emote system and supervised its implementation.
• Handle the integration of the Loading Screen and creation of new tip icons.

🤝Team Support and QA Testing:
• Participate in the creation of Weekly Sprints and Production Meetings.
• Create Jira tickets for the creation of new features and bug-tracking.
• Create Builds and Test Release on Epic Game Store using the dev panel.
• Participated and managed Play Test sessions with the community and the team.

Game and Level Designer

NanoTribe GmbH

I joined the studio in Berlin and created the pipeline of production, wiki of the company and helped developed hundreds of game ideas, 30+ prototypes and worked on a Live Game: Arrow Fest (for over a year, reaching 40 Million Downloads and being on top charts for several consecutive months

💡 Create, Design and optimize the Gameplay experience (3C, Gameloop, Level Design)
• Responsible for the prototyping department to create games from concept to Store release every week. 
• Organize and Create new concept ideas for production daily.
• Create Levels, Implement UI, Tweak – Balance in Unity.
• Analyze KPIs and suggest improvements accordingly. Use Business Developer to study the campaign soft launch and sort out metrics : CPI, CTR, CPM, Installs etc.

🤝 Management & Mentoring
• Build the pipeline production for all the prototypes and Live Games for 4 teams of 3 (1 Game Designer, 1 Developper, 1 Game Artist).  
• Take the Lead and assist 3 teams simultaneously (1 Game Designer, 1 Sr Game Artist, 1 Sr  Gameplay Developper)
• Create 3 wikis for the company using Notion:
  • Arrow Fest: explain the evolution of the game, A/B tests, Success and Failures
  • Company: Explain the roles of each members, the organisation, protypes history explaining what worked what didn't, ID & Pswd for ease everyone life.
  • Berlin: Gather all the information needed for new commers before and after they arrive in Germany.
• Mentor and assists other Junior Game Designer in their Daily worklife. 
• Create a Project from scratch in Trello, Sketch the UI, Give references, explain the Gameloop, Gameplay, • everything that could help the team producing the Game.

• On demand, create Monetization system : Shop, IAP, Daily – Level Reward that could be implemented in further Soft launch to increase retention
• Study Newest trends of Monetization and prepare documentation regarding Hybrid & Deep Casual Games

Lead Game Designer

After my contract at Ubisoft, I joined Nanotribe as a Senior Game Designer for over a year as a Senior Game Designer remotely from Bordeaux. 

My Main Missions were to:

💡 Create, Design and optimize the Gameplay experience (3C, Gameloop, LD, )
• Create new Game Ideas on a daily basis
• Implement and create levels & UI in Unity. Placing the props provided by the Artist / Dev.
• Tweak – Balance public values to make the most joyful and understandable game experience possible.
• Analyze KPIs and suggest improvements accordingly. Use Business Developper to study the campaign soft launch and sort out metrics : CPI, CTR, CPM, Installs etc.

🤝 Management & Mentoring

Senior Game Designer

After my contract at FUSION JEUNESSE and some Freelance Mission, I joined Ubisoft - KETCHAPP as Game Designer in order to create new games IP, analyse metrics of the games and study the Hyper-Casual Market to catch-up latest trends or design / create new ones. 

📑 My missions were to:
• Create and improve game systems respecting the creative vision of the game and the target audience
• Offer features capable of optimizing the player experience and promoting retention and monetization
• Work closely with the publishing team, as well as the artists and programmers of the studio in order to bring innovative game concepts and guarantee maximum quality at all levels
• Analyze KPIs and propose improvements accordingly

Subsequently, I joined Fusion Jeunesse which is a Canadian association fighting against dropout and absenteeism. as a Project Coordinator to pilot the New implementation in Paris.

- A Virtual Experience simulating how passengers in an automatic car could interact with an AI
- A totem at Sofia Antipolis where the AI greet and interact with the new comers

• Scripting of the user experience: storyboards, game design scenarios, gestures
• Communication with the customer for design improvement and validation
• Dialogue with the artistic director and the teams of animators and developers to ensure the feasibility of integration on UNITY.

After my contract at Smart VR Studio, I joined the start-up Metidia (the studio no longer exist) in Paris to help them grow in the gamification sector & promo gaming by contracting new clients, creating new gameplay experiences, and managing projects.

Project Manager

After my internship at Gameloft Hanoï, I had the opportunity to work again in the virtual reality sector as a project manager at Smart VR Studio (now Eva.gg dedicated to VR E-sport) in Paris.

As a Project Manager, I took control of projects from concept making to operation, according to the client's needs. My main mission was to conceive and manage the creation of specialized  VR experiences that would match the customers' brands and products.  I supervised 6 projects since I started my work, from 1 to 4 months of development. 

📑 My main tasks were to:
• Develop the scenario and rationalize the VR experience to match the client's requirements.
• Create technical and descriptive documents: 
  _ Moodboard 
  _  Backlog
  _ Wireframe (create interaction schema that will help the developers remember all the experience steps).  
  _ UI & UX documents 
  _ Sound Design documents
  _ Experience Spécifications (number of polygons per scene, blockers of the project…).
• Organise and manage the project (using agile methods):
  _ Create a specific pipeline of production for every project using Trello
  _ Follow up the process development and arrange the planning according to the progress of the team. 
• Coordinate the development team (3D artists, animators, developers, designers).
• Assist and manage the recording session for the project.

📩 My additional tasks were to:
• Help to develop the company management and production process.
• Give feedback about internal projects and provide gameplay documents if needed

Gameloft

During my internship I worked on 2 games:
- Despicable Me Minion Rush, where I supervised a team to release new updates.
- Asphalt Street Storm Racing where I supervised a team to release the game for soft launch.

For these 2 projects, my main mission were to:
• Coordinate and supervise the game development cycle in order to achieve the objectives of the project.
• Coordinate the activity of relevant parties involved in the production processes as requested by the Producer (Programmers, Game Designers, Artists, QA, Creation teams, Support teams).
• Support the Producer to manage the project risks & conflicts to avoid or reduce any risk that can affect the project.
• Provide expertise and effort to reach the expected deadlines and quality standards.
• Follow up the project status; anticipating the expected deadlines and quality standards; find out solutions or consider relevant decisions.
• Review the game quality to ensure that Gameloft's quality standards are met.
• Report to Producer.

Assistant Producer

During my internship, I was principally in charge of creation the Game Design Document for a FPS open world game. Also, I add an extra mission that consisted to play test one of their main title and  to bring new ideas to the game.

1) Main mission: 
• Benchmarked and analysed other titles of this genre to create a database compiling all the info of these games:
        • Analysed Pro / cons / USP
        • Identified gameloops and gameplay mechanics
• Designed the gameplay mechanics and game systems:
        • Create the storyline and backstory of the main character
        • Create the tutorial and the mission system (hunting techniques, how to approach and detect a prey etc...)
        • Design the habitats and localisation of the animals
        • Design climat system (rain, sun, blur, sand: which have all pro and cons on the hunter) 
        • Design the IA behavior of the animals (based on their real behavior)
        • Design the weapon system (based on real weapons)
• Prototype the first hunting system with the developer

2) Side mission:
• Create new features and mini-games
