One of my favorite things about skiing is hitchhiking. 

The fact people still hitchhike. 

That people will pick them up. 

And that it is safe. 

It is rare to be able to hitchhike and feel safe most place.

Today the only reason we bemoan the loss of great architecture is because we have no great architecture to replace it with. 

This is an old church building in Salt Lake City Utah. 

It is no longer around. 

It was torn down in the 1950s. 

And replaced by some boring buildings. 

When are we going to make amazing buildings again?

During the day? 

This isn't impressive. 

But at night? 

It looks awesome! 

This is an art installation at the Salt Lake City International Airport .

What airports have you seen with great art?

I've stopped caring about Utah's water. 

Besides, why wouldn't you build water resorts in a warm sunny area?

We love this project and can't wait for it to be completed.

Why does this guy have a Star Link in his car? 

Does he not have a data plan on his cell phone?

Cities spend millions of your tax dollars because of their egos. 

And it does zero to benefit you. 

This is just one example of cities all across America that get into lawsuits because they have an ego. 

This home is beautiful, and fits a historic vibe, with modern astetics as well. 

It was purposefully designed to give nod to the mining history of Park City. 

Yet the city kept fighting and spending other peoples money because they didn't "like" it.

Zoning should be abolished. 

But design standards? 

Maybe that would be a better use of our tax dollars.

Where do you ski? 

I would love to meet new people this year by going skiing together. 

I have a pass to Solitude, so if you have an Ikon pass, let's go. 

Especially since they open up at 8 am, let's get a few turns in before work.

I can also get a pass to PC, Brighton, Alta, or Deer Valley. 

And I only ski on weekdays.

If you want to really make it. 

Take risks. 

The worst thing that could happen to you? 

Bankruptcy. 

Which is not a big deal. 

At all. 

So what is holding you back from taking risks?

If you think a cause is happening because it's worthy. 

It's not. 

It happens because of money. 

Anytime you wonder why governments, people, etc do things. 

It is almost always about money.

How is this even a debate? 

Renting will make you wealthier than buying a home. 

And here's the proof, with every assumption except COVID. 

And if you think buying a home means you lock in your costs? 

You are wrong. 

So should you buy a primary residence? 

Absolutely! 

Because the returns aren't monetary. 

And can a home be an investment? 

Absolutely! 

Just ask Joel Jones . 

And could you buy a place, live in it, rent it, buy another? 

And have it be an investment?

100%. 

If you want real estate to be an investment, be intentional. 

If you want to rent and invest, be intentional.
