I managed the day-to-day operation and optimization of Ipswitch’s demand generation marketing program in North America across organic search, paid social, content syndication, paid media, retargeting marketing.

Ipswitch is a SaaS company and my demand generation focus was enterprise sales and ABM marketing.

You can just drop in a URL or article into whatever LLM you use. I like ChatHub, which is a Chrome extension, as it connects to six LLMs simultaneously. 

Tell the AI who the target audience is and ask it what questions that audience would have after reading the article

Use the answers to create a FAQ section near the end of the article. 

As a bonus, you can repeat this exercise with any paid landing page to help improve conversion rates.

Yesterday, I attended the Imagination in Action AI conference at MIT in Boston, and I was struck by how much has changed in a year.

When I attended this event a year ago, ChatGPT 3.5 had just captured people's imagination. The event then brought together AI researchers and investors with non-technical people, all excited about AI's promise but with few use cases.

Twelve months later, this was truly the coming-out party for AI in Boston. Four times the attendees from a year ago and appearances from all the major players in AI: Google, OpenAI, Meta, and Perplexity. Over 60 startups pitched their ideas and lots of use cases about how AI is being used today across a wide variety of businesses.

My interest in AI is driven by its potential impact on marketing and agencies. We are seeing some impact already, but the seismic changes to the industry are 1-3 years away.

It was clear from listening to panel discussions and talking to attendees that the next big thing in AI is user agents, who can take actions on our behalf,

Vinod Khosla, who was one of the first investors in OpenAI made a really interesting comment: 

 “ In the future most use of Internet will be by agents and not humans.” 

And by the future, that is less than five years, probably closer to three. 

The user agents will be personal to us. They will learn what we like and what we do, and that has huge implications for marketing and marketers going forward.

If a user agent is personalized to me, how does that impact the type of content that gets delivered back to me? We live in a very polarized country, and how will that polarization impact the type of content that user agents fetch for me to consider?

How do you market to agents, and what does that mean for the findability of content? The clock is ticking on the Google page with ten blue links. I don’t think that is how search will look in three years, and that has a profound impact on how everyone markets themselves. How prospective users discover brands and companies is going to undergo a seismic shift, and nobody is prepared for that.

What does the user of agents mean for analytics and attribution? For example, if my user agent books a vacation for me in London, where I fly British Airways and stay at a Marriott, how do those companies measure attribution? At the moment, there is no analytics software that can measure user agents.

The event left me with lots of questions to ponder but also filled me with excitement about the next 3-5 years and how these multi-model modules will change our lives. 

Paul Roetzer from Marketing AI Institute shared this on X this week. The Acenture's earnings report shows that companies of all sizes are desperate for help on how to integrate AI into their business

Accenture’s GenAI revenue is exploding, with $1B+ in consulting work over the first half of their fiscal year. According to Julie Sweet, @Accenture
 Chair and CEO, it is the, “fastest we have ever built sales in an emerging technology. And what it tells you is that clients understand the importance of AI, that they're going to have to reinvent every part of the enterprise.”

When you analyze the Accenture earnings transcript, you see that the majority of the work is foundational (i.e. data, LLM models, education, etc). This is the very leading edge of the adoption curve in enterprises. I wouldn’t be surprised to see their GenAI revenue reach $5 - $10B annually in the next few years. 

If you buy into the premise that the next big thing in AI is user agents, then what is the impact of that on content creation and buyers' journeys?

What does it mean for aggregator sites like Yelp, when the user agent is pulling information directly from a LLM?

What does it mean for TOFL content since the user agent can identify the pain point I am having and go and get solutions?
