I was a school volunteer for helping kids with disabilities in a special education class, some of my job duties were helping students with schoolwork. Also, I supervised the students when they came to and from campus. And I helped the teacher with the assignments being planned for that day. Also, I helped the teacher monitor the students' behavior by their listening skills and helped plan assignments that needed to be ready for the day. My significant accomplishments regarding to being a school volunteer were: meeting new students, getting the work needed to log in my hours, and getting the kids to the off and pick up area when their parents were outside. Other things that I did as a school volunteer, was supervising another group of ESE students who had disabilities with counting numbers, learning the letters of the alphabet, and helping them with their lunch in the classroom. Also, during my time at Brook shire Elementary School I went to the playground and helped kids line up when it was time to go back to the classroom. So, half of the students would come in the morning and the other half came in the afternoon. I did a two-hour shift with the teacher, because I needed to be flexible in terms of my schoolwork and other priorities needed to be done on that day. So, when I volunteered for Orange County Public Schools in Florida I did it for one of my classes in the major of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Due to family schedules in 2019, I wasn't able to continue volunteering on a weekly basis. However, I learned that it is important to help out in the community because positive things can help you succeed if you have faith in yourself.
