I joined the Onsite Marketing as a Livestream Shopping Specialist to support and execute the launch of livestream shopping on web and in app. The role involved working collaboratively with several teams across the business, including Merchandising, Fashion, Beauty, Commercial, Content, Product, Engineering, Editorial, Marketing and more.

Process & Management:
➜ Built the livestream operations process by outlining the core responsibility of each stakeholder within the project and then recording the process on the FARFETCH intranet in the form of a playbook. 
➜ The playbook included the operational process, amplification methods, and how to set, host and moderate a livestream shopping show using integrated software.
➜ Worked closely with the Product and Engineering team to oversee the implementation of the software and kept a record of issues and bugs to be resolved, as well as facilitating meetings with the providers.
➜Managed relationships with the Private Client, CRM and App Optimisation team to ensure their contributions to the livestream project were met.

Hosting & Moderation
➜ Hosted and moderated 40 livestream shows in 28 English-speaking markets on web and app  
➜ Created a weekly script to prompt and drive engagement in each show
➜ Managed the product availability on and in the lead-up to each show
➜ Became an expert and trained global teams in the livestream operational process

Analytics & Reporting
➜ Built the livestream reporting framework to capture insights such as engagement, sales, product activity, amplification and more... 
➜ Created and reported on the performance of each livestream show and presented quarterly performance in townhall meetings.
➜ Captured learnings for each show and identified the ‘success formula’ for hosting livestreams that drove product sales and customer engagement.

Live Shopping Specialist

TikTok

I joined as the fourth hire in the e-commerce creator department to roll out the e-commerce creator monetisation features (TikTok Shop). The role involved working with senior stakeholders and peers in the team at ByteDance based in Beijing and Shanghai, China.

➜ Built the Top/Generalist Creator vertical by identifying and onboarding creators with 1M+ followers and the commercial acumen to drive sales through livestream shopping events, shoppable short videos and in-app product marketing. 
➜ Match made 25 creators to products in a three-month period, hosted 75+ livestream shopping events and generated $360k gross merchandise revenue in Q4 2021, with 50% of revenue generated from Black Friday and Christmas campaigns. Internally promoted shortly after to manage and support the growth of three peers and two new hires.
➜ Managing hybrid relationships between creators, talent agencies and internal stakeholders including suppliers/customers.
➜ Built the creator categorisation model, developed agile processes, documentation and reports to manage workflow, as well as curated products, scripts, briefs and co-hosts for all shopping events and short videos.
➜ Supporting the growth of black-owned merchants in-app by introducing DTC business owners in my network.

Started in the Talent team, where I was responsible for launching from scratch, growing and managing a community of entrepreneurs; and then the Growth Marketing team.

➜ Led the strategy, execution and management of a 600+ talent community of entrepreneurs interested in building, scaling or joining a startup in the Founders Factory portfolio. This resulted in the investment of over 20 entrepreneurs across three departments in the first 18-months of launch, with 10 entrepreneurs raising a £250k pre-seed investment to build a startup in the venture studio. 
➜ Hosting onboarding events, hackathons, open evenings and measuring engagement across the community (i.e the number of people applying for jobs, submitting ideas, attending events, reading newsletter etc.) This resulted in a 30% engagement rate across the community based on individual engagement points.
➜ Worked closely with the Studio Director, Head of Venture Design and the Head of Product to productise the community and build an online portal for the members of the community. Whilst building the portal, I collaborated with engineers on design sprints, customer journeys and conducted user testing. This role also involved creating and uploading content (i.e welcome packs, user guidelines, investment themes, webinars, events) to the online portal.
➜ Creating and scheduling content, including text posts, video and images for use on social media and collaborating with colleagues from across brand and growth marketing departments to coordinate community newsletter and events; ensuring consistency across the brand. Increased total followers and engagement by 3-6% MoM on average.
➜ Chairing the mental health committee: Collaborated with a psychotherapist to train and launch a committee of mental health first-aiders. Supporting the diversity committee: Identified an organisation to conduct Unconscious Bias training for the entire company.

Groupon is a global e-commerce marketplace connecting subscribers with local merchants by offering activities, travel, goods and services. I  started working in the graduate sales team, and then promoted to a senior sales consultant within a year and a half of being in the company. I  achieved career progression level 3/5. I used search tools such as TripAdvisor, Google, Treatwell, Yell, and OpenTable to identify new business  opportunities to reach weekly and monthly KPIs and targets. Communicating regularly with merchants to ensure their campaigns are generating the highest level of sales.  

➜ Brought in £765k Gross Billings and £289k Gross Profits from March 2016 to July 2017
➜ 228% Target Achievement from September 2016 to February 2017

I initially worked in the call centre of this busy car-sharing network, advising customers on how to use the service and dealing with any issues arising from reservations. I was then transferred to the Sales department, where I was responsible for completing license and insurance eligibility for new and B2B customers.

Responsibilities: 
➜ Meeting 54 inbound and outbound call targets daily. 
➜ Signing up and selling Zipcar’s products to new and B2B customers.
➜ Meeting an individual target of 21 approvals per day as well as weekly team targets.
➜ Dealing with customer inquiries and complaints via email or telephone.

Benefit Cosmetics

I was a beauty consultant for this fashionable and ethical luxury cosmetics brand, first at a concession at Selfridges in London’s West End, and then one at Westfield Stratford. It is a fast paced, customer oriented environment requiring superb interpersonal skills, perfect knowledge of the range of products, including how to apply them, and strong sales skills. 

My time at Westfield Stratford included the period of the Olympics, where my clients included Olympic competitors and other sports personalies, TV presenters and celebrities.

Winnie Akadjo has a decade of professional experience in sales and digital marketing within technology startups across venture capital, social media, and e-commerce environments, having worked at Benefit Cosmetics, Zipcar, Groupon, Founders Factory and TikTok.

Over the last two years, Winnie founded LVS Hub, a marketing agency specialising in helping brands and retailers expand their audiences and drive sales through innovative live and video shopping technology, including TikTok Shop. Her entrepreneurial success includes winning grant funding from Foundervine and hosting workshops with the British Library. Winnie has also participated in panels with organisations such as AppsFlyer, Rarely Heard Voices and Carta.

As a care-leaver, Winnie's journey has deeply informed her understanding of resilience and the importance of mental well-being. Currently, she is building Aeli, a platform to help trauma-informed practitioners provide a better continuity of care to their clients by bridging the 168-hour gap between therapy sessions. 

Alongside her entrepreneurial pursuits, Winnie enjoys running, cooking, and exploring her Christian faith. She is also the proud mother of an eighteen-year-old son.
