A 41% increase in attack surface isn’t just a number, it’s a mirror of how fast our digital ecosystems are expanding.

For me, this reinforces one truth: cybersecurity maturity isn’t about adding more tools; it’s about understanding your own environment better than anyone trying to exploit it.

UNC Law School ran a mock trial with an AI jury, ChatGPT, Grok, and Claude deliberating a robbery case in real time.

The result? 

A powerful reminder that AI can analyze evidence but can’t read intent. 

It can process a transcript but can’t sense hesitation, fear, or remorse. 

The bots missed everything that makes judgment human.

Still, 74% of legal professionals say AI is a force for good. Over half are already seeing ROI. And both of those facts can coexist.

Because AI’s true value isn’t in replacing human judgment,  it’s in amplifying it. The best systems don’t automate decision-making; they elevate the people making those decisions.

One professor observing the trial warned that “technology will recursively repair its way into every human space if we let it.”

That’s the future we’re negotiating, not whether AI can do something, but whether it should.

The real discipline now isn’t adopting AI faster. It’s knowing where human judgment remains the one thing worth protecting.

The line between real and fake isn’t blurry anymore — it’s gone.

That BBC piece on how teens can’t tell what’s real online anymore hit hard. AI faces, cloned voices, fake videos, misinformation everywhere… it’s not just tricking people. It’s reshaping how an entire generation thinks about truth.

What’s scary isn’t that they’re being fooled — it’s that they’re starting to stop caring whether something’s real or not. When everything looks believable, nothing feels trustworthy. 

And that’s a dangerous place to be, mentally and socially.
We used to say “check your sources.” 

Now it’s more like, “check if your reality has been manufactured.”

The solution isn’t another media literacy workshop. 

It’s rebuilding a sense of trust, teaching kids how to pause, question, and reconnect with what’s real, not just what’s viral.

Because if we lose that ability, it’s not just the internet that’s broken. 

It’s us.

According to new research, artificial intelligence systems will soon generate 1,000 times more data than all of humanity combined.

Think about what that means.

Most of the information in the world,  the videos, the reports, the simulations, the training sets, won’t be created by people at all. 

It’ll be machine-made, optimized for other machines to read, process, and build on.

That scale of data changes everything:
What we see online will increasingly come from algorithms, not humans.

Decision-making will rely more on machine interpretations than human judgment.
The internet could evolve into an ecosystem that exists more for AI than for us.

And here’s the uncomfortable part, the more data AI creates, the faster it learns, and the further it pulls away from human comprehension.

We’re entering an age where understanding reality might mean decoding a world built by machines, not people.

In a world optimized by data, the rarest skill is still human intuition.

AI can predict outcomes, but it can’t feel context.

It can calculate probabilities, but not possibilities.

Leaders who know when to trust their gut, not just the graph, will define the next era of innovation.
