Dubai has 200 nationalities living in one city.

You know what happens when 200 nationalities live together? 

Everyone learns very quickly to mind their own business.

I grew up in a country where your business is everyone's business.

Your salary. Your weight. Your marriage. Your choices. Your timeline. Your career. Your body.

There's always someone with an opinion about a life they're not living.

So, it was a regular Tuesday. I was standing at the station. Peak hour. Packed.

Every kind of person. Every kind of life. Every kind of outfit, language, story.

And everyone was just..there.

No staring. No auditing. No quiet judgment dressed up as concern.

Just people. Moving through their day. Completely unbothered by mine.

I sat there and thought -
We are so exhausted in India.
Not from the work.
From the watching.
From performing a life for people who won't remember your name in ten years.

Imagine if we just..
let people live.

Imagine the energy we'd get back.
Imagine who we'd become if we stopped editing ourselves for an audience that never asked for a show.

Dubai didn't teach me hustle.

I thought I knew what works in a campaign. I was confidently, expensively wrong.

I've built brand strategies for years.
I know the frameworks. The audience mapping. The messaging hierarchies. I've sat in rooms and guided campaigns with the kind of quiet confidence that comes from doing something long enough.

So when I was brought in to work on a brand's campaign recently, I wasn't nervous. I should have been.

They were using Omneky to run their ad creatives. I had heard of it but never seen it work up close.

Before the campaign went live - before a single rupee was spent - Omneky scored their creatives. 

Predicted which ones would perform. Which ones would bleed money. Which ones the audience would scroll past in under two seconds.

I stood there quietly having a small crisis.

Because I've sat in rooms for years watching brands make these decisions on gut. On opinion. On whoever in the room spoke the loudest.
"This one feels right."
"Our audience will love this."
"The CEO prefers the blue version."

And then they'd spend. And wait. And find out weeks later what worked.

If you spend enough time around founders, you start noticing a pattern.

The early conversations are almost never about the product. They’re about the questions:

I myself spent weeks just trying to figure out where to even begin. You open one tab… then another… then ten more.

A government portal here.
A market research report there.
Some random article someone shared.
A startup policy and what not

By the end of it, you’ve read a lot… but somehow still feel like you’re only halfway there.
Which is why something I came across recently caught my attention.

At Razorpay’s FTX event last week, they launched something called Startup Sahayak.

It’s an AI-powered platform built with DPIIT that helps founders think through their idea before they actually start building.

You enter a few prompts about your startup idea and it generates a structured report covering things like:

• market potential
• how you could register the company
• government schemes relevant to your industry
• early-stage strategic insights

What I liked is that it’s not trying to replace a founder’s thinking, it just helps organise it better - almost like having a thinking companion when you’re staring at an idea and wondering, “Okay… where do I even start?”

Ordered groceries. Got a masterclass in marketing 

Okay so this just came with my Flipkart Minutes delivery this morning. A whole polaroid. Inside a grocery bag.

Didn't expect it. Stood there looking at it longer than I should have. Nice looking. A photo shot at 140x zoom on the Nothing Phone (4a). Inside a grocery delivery.

Then I started connecting dots. 

>> A series of pillars I walked past  
>> Each panel on the same column taking you further in. 
>> 1x. 30x. 70x. 140x. 
>> A few pillars on the street becoming a live demonstration of a camera feature. 
>> It made me think of placements on the Flipkart app - banners, rider navigation, homepage, all humming the same note.

Most 360° campaigns are just the same idea copy-pasted across placements. This one feels like someone asked: what can this medium do that no other medium can? And then answered that question five times over.

The polaroid couldn't have worked as a billboard. The pillar couldn't have worked as a delivery insert. That's exactly why both exist.

One launch. One feature. Every touchpoint earning its place.

I had never seen a 360° campaign actually be 360°. Until this.

There's a saying - prepare the umbrella before it rains. The sale opens 13th March. But the work to make you want the phone? That started long before.

Nothing Phone (4a) series.

Show, don't tell - the oldest rule in the book. Rarely followed this well.

Saw this Kurkure’s front page ad the very next day after India’s win. 

Kurkure tapped into the nation’s celebratory mood with a simple, clever ad that felt timely, culturally relevant, and rooted in the spirit of India’s victory.

Sometimes the best marketing isn’t rushed. It’s when a brand already feels like part of the moment.

Every marketer has a story about a good idea that did not survive the room.

The logo got bigger. The product got more screen time. A super appeared at the end because someone felt the message was not clear enough. 

By the time it came out the other side it looked like every other piece of work and the original instinct that made it interesting was long gone.

The Crocs India film with KL Rahul feels like someone just refused to let that happen.

Classic Clogs across an athlete's actual day. No explanation added. No moment engineered to make sure the audience understood what they were looking at. 

Just KL being a person in the hours before cricket asks anything of him and the brand sitting in that without clearing its throat once.

Whoever held the line on this deserves a very long lunch.

Play Hard. Rest Easy.
